A few things we could do immediately
I think we were very successful in the email/fax campaign to senators - how about continuing with that - writing 6 million letters to the GAO to speed up its investigation? Also writing to Congress for a full congressional hearing? We should not let up -

1. We must also write LTTEs, encourage those with name recognition
to write guest editorials. Especially civil rights figures.

In states with significant minority populations the GOP cannot win when the electorate is evenly split without suppressing the minority vote. Ohio is 11% African American. If Bush gets 53% of the white vote but only 10% of the black vote then suppression is the only way they can win.

With the arrest of the mastermind of the Freedom Summer murders this is a perfect time to hit on these points. The dirty secret of the GOP is minority vote suppression,

if somehow black voters in Ohio can be mobilised to write or have a really huge rally?

5. African Americans and most Kerry supporters for that matter are not
aware of what happened on Jan. 6, or of what John Conyers has been doing.

Shortly after the election I ran into a local civil rights figure (Cincinnati) and I asked him if another civil rights figure, retired Judge Nathaniel Jones could put pressure on Blackwell to recuse himself and quit interfering with the recount. He said no, and that Blackwell was being an ass because of power. He also said that what was needed was for today's generation to care. He said his generation the civil rights leaders and those who fought beside them had done what they did in the 50s and 60s and now it was our turn. The sad part is that he is right. We keep turning to these people who are over 60 years old and asking them to do it.

I think DUers should fan out to African American online forums and join and first inform, and then second ask for help on how we can together force all votes to be counted and everyone have a chance to vote.
