Letter to my Nay-saying representative in Congress
My liberal rep and Senators all voted against the challenge to Ohio's electors. Here is my letter to them:

Representative Van Hollen:

I am extremely disappointed in your silence regarding the urgent need for electoral reform in this nation.

Your failure to join your Democratic colleagues on the challenge to Ohio's electors was a defeat for the principle of clean, open and fair elections. Why are you opposed to clean elections?

There are many profoundly disturbing allegations contained in Representative Conyers' report. There is an ongoing lawsuit regarding these matters that directly contest the legality of the recount in Ohio. Until this case is settled the validity of Ohio's electoral vote remains in doubt.

Investigations into "irregularities" in Ohio and elsewhere must be renewed with vigor. The problems must be detailed and a bold plan of action to fix the system and restore confidence in the world's oldest democracy must be proposed.

I urge you to come out in support of Senator Lautenberg's FEDERAL ELECTION INTEGRITY ACT OF 2005 and expound on it. Elections must be federalized and standardized and brought to the highest level of integrity and transparency of any nation on earth.

A transparent, secure, redundant electronic system with paper ballots should be designed and implemented in each and every precinct in the nation. The total cost would be only a fraction what we spend on the Iraq war. Where are our priorities?

America needs to mobilize its collective talent and creativity to design the best voting system humanly and technically possible. How can we tell other nations to become democratic when we are so flawed? We must become the leader in electoral integrity, not the world's laughingstock.

Sincerely,

TAP

1. I love this line
"Why are you opposed to clean elections?"

That's what we should ask every one of them, over and over again. There is no way to answer that question except to say, "I am for clean elections." Oh, really? Then why did you vote no on Jan. 6th? Hmmmm?

Bravo!!
