A letter to Republicans, opinions and proofreading please?
In an effort to save me some time and effort I decided to sent the same letter to all the Republicans that spoke out on Thursday and to my Republican Senator. Please offer up any suggestions or corrections for me before I send this out.

Dear XXXXX,

On January 6, 2005 many Democrats decided to take a huge leap of faith in the American public. They stood and fought for the single most important issue in a Democracy. Some three-dozen or more public representatives of Democracy decided to do what they were elected to do. All of these individuals have earned the right to be called American patriots by the people they represent. They gave eloquent speeches and used words like patriotism, citizen voices, “We the People”, bi-partisan, protect our Democracy, respect, integrity, duty, and honor. They did this because they were ASKED to do this by hundreds of thousands of American citizens.

In stark contrast, I listened to Republicans deliver despicable excuses that used words like conspiracy theory, during regular business hours, sore losers, move on and many other disrespectful remarks. Understand that the remarks you made were televised and MANY American citizens Republican and Democrat alike were incensed and infuriated by these remarks. Every one of you was placed in office to REPRESENT the citizens of The United States of America. It is your duty to represent those citizens and MANY of them realized, after listening to your comments about their requests to their elected officials, that you have no intention of representing the American citizens of this nation.

It does not matter to America whether our Republican representatives believe the 102 pages of evidence they have been provided with regarding wrongdoing in the November 2, 2004 election. We have now found our voices and will continue to do so through our grassroots efforts. “We the People” will continue to protest the behavior of ALL of our elected officials who refuse to hear our voices. We will continue to make noise regarding EVERY vote you make, EVERY bill you pass and/or sponsor, and EVERY committee you serve on, to the American public. “We the People of The United States of America,” are taking back our government. We have taken down names of ALL of those who oppose representation of their constituents. We have also recognized those that do. Amendments 15, 19, 24, and 26 will be upheld and taken seriously in this country.

It is the intention of American citizens across our nation not that Senator Kerry resides in the White House, but that EVERY American citizen has the right to have their vote counted, weighed and measured. It is the intention of the citizens of this country to have a fair and equitable system of voting. It is the intention of American citizens to make this issue THE number one item on our agenda. “We the People” will no longer sit idly by and watch our President, his administration, and his party, continue to lie to us regarding his “evidence” for war against nations, while ignoring “We the People’s” evidence regarding fraudulent elections in our OWN country.

The ball is now in your court. You are either with us; “We the People”, or you are against us.

Sincerely,
XXXXXX

6. I plan on mailing this to all of them.
I am not sure I can afford that much postage. I thought they all received that information. Maybe I should refer to the Conyers report by name instead.

5. Wow, you might also want to attach the text of
Amendments 15, 19, 24 and 26. Otherwise they may have no clue what you are talking about. ;)

Good job!

8. That's a fabulous letter

I've been mulling one over in my mind, too, to send to Lisa Murkowski, "my" newly elected senator. When she was a state representative she was somewhat moderate (Republicanly speaking) so she may at least read what I have to say. (I won't even try with old Ted, I suspect he's a hopeless case ... and, well, Don Young.... never mind).

(on edit: corrected screen name) Bush_is_Wacko: I've gone through your letter and edited for punctuation, capitalization, etc., as well as some very minor wording changes. Please review and make sure you don't disagree with anything I've done before you send it on. Good job!

Sharon

If you ever need anything looked at before you send it out, let me know. I'm a graphic designer and a big part of my job is also proofreading. So, I usually catch punctuation, grammatical, spelling, etc. errors and some minor clean-up that may be needed.
