Republicans are losing, they are fading out, that is why
they feel the need to cheat in order to win.

I think that is a concept that needs to be known, and spread.

1. They cheat with payoffs to the media
They interfere with voting. They call names, promote malicious lies, and avoid real issues like the plague.

2. You are correct. Remember in 2000? They were considered whacko.
5 years, a few blown up buildings, and an invasion or two later and the media is suddenly taking these people seriously.

Little has changed. They are still wrong, out of touch, hateful, spiteful, violent, ignorant, misleading, lying, cheating, whining losers.

And the sooner we realize that, internalize it into how we look at and respond to our environment, the sooner we will own their bitch-asses again.

they have been losing ground to common sense and they're fighting for their lives. It's slipping from their grasp.

I saw this in the small town I grew up in. 2000 people officially, 11 churches. We got Cable service in the mid 80's, when I was 13 or so. Until that time we had 2-6 channels, depending on your antenna! Lol. In the last 20 years, I have seen the churches decline, the young people now travel to the cities constantly, while the elders still stay in town (unless forced to go to the city for med. attention.) So the elders seem to have dug in to to old ways and beliefs, while the younger have had to 'catch up' with modern society. The 'freer' the kids get, the more afraid the elders get, because at the same time, they are being bombarded by MS spin. Right before the election, my grandmother attended a meeting at her church (Lutheran). They brought in a speaker who scared the begeezes out of all these old ladies. My Mom had to sit her down and explain the the Muslims don't hate Christians, and they are NOT all out to kill us! Luckily, she is a very smart, strong woman, and once she was told some facts, she calmed down. Now, she's mad too! And look out for my Gran when she's Mad!!! We need to help educate them, once their fear is replaced by anger at the Government that has ruined their country, we can take our country back.

6. Oh, I think nearly everybody on this board got that point
The ones who need to get it are the DLC led Democrats who just rolled over and accepted defeat without a fight.

If they actually manage to start an election reform movement I may change my opinion of them.

Somehow I just don't think that's in the cards.

Why else would the Repugs choose a failure in life as their figurehead in 2000, simply because he was the son of a mediocre ex-president?

There's no way that goofus would have won the first election, let alone a second one, without the help of electronic voting machine companies who blatantly "pledge to deliver Ohio's votes" to WhatsHisFace.

Don't know it exactly, but it's been said around here a lot lately.

If you see a turtle up on top of a fence post, you know something is wrong, because he shouldn't be up there, and there is no way he got up there by himself...

11. Good observation, and there is evidence of it
Don't have the link, but remember the recent polls showing ** with the lowest approval rating of a reelected Pres immediately after election? And support for the Iraq War has gone down recently...

The pendulum can only swing so far in one direction, let's hope it already hit that point.

28. ANWR also difficult
There was an article in the Anchorage Daily News this morning quoting Ted Stevens as saying that ANWR drilling will probably not get much attention this session, after he promised in October that it would be top priority and no doubt passed this time. This was how the Republicans here were able to defeat Dem Tony Knowles, by saying that he couldn't get approval for drilling in ANWR because as a democrat he wouldn't have the power. It's so interesting how their stories change after the election. (I personally am against drilling in ANWR, but it's a hot-button economic issue in Alaska and contributes to Republican power here. Even many democrats are in favor of drilling.)

35. The war won't change much until they start the draft. - but what will
make the pendulum swing back quickly is Social Security. The buchco's are so arrogant that they really believe that they can propogandize the private SS accounts (now changed to "personal" accounts cause it sells better).

They're gonna be in for a big shock at the outcry, outrage, and opposition from both Dems and Repugs. Congressional Repugs are squirming because they know if they support the bushco agenda they'll lose in '06 and '08.

There's not enough trust in government in our country to quell the fears of the baby boomers who are coming up for retirement soon. Once you hit people in the pocketbook they take notice. Not that they're really more informed on the issue than normally.

This issue is already being viewed primarily as a policy that will cut benefits by 1/3 to a 1/2 which is counter to the bushco desire to have it viewed as giving people personal accounts.

We'll all do a happy dance when we see the split in the Repugs and watch the bushco's squirm in the defeat of Bush's major initiative.

I believe that this issue will lift the veil to those who have blindly supported Bush and expose many of the other failings of this administration. This will be his real Waterloo.

15. They KNOW They Have To Cheat
To quote Michael Moore from one of his pro-Clark speeched in late 2003, "America is becoming more liberal every day." If the shrub is coronated, all we will need is for the draft to be reinstated (which I predict for June or July of 2005) for the 1960's to happen all over again.

17. I want to expand on the concept of repubs losing
because I actually believe that's in the cards for them in the very near future. They're at the end of their end game, caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place. They've been playing both sides against the middle for a long time, and time is not on their side. For years they've been playing to the far, religious right, particularly when it comes to abortion. If they don't deliver within the next four years in some substancial way, the religious right will desert the repubs. OTH, if they do deliver, moderates will blow the party off.

If Iraq is still a bloody disaster in two years, the unease that dwells just under the skin of many Americans will erupt into fury. If Americans are still dying at the rate they are now in Iraq, the electorate will turn on repubs so quickly your head will spin. If bushco gets the bulk of the troops out and Iraq's still a mess, the anger over wasted blood and money will still be considerable. It's almost impossible to believe that Iraq will be a stable democracy within 2 years- or anything even remotely close.

Program like NCLB and the prescription drug giveaway to big pharm, will be tested and, it's easy to predict, found severely lacking. Cutting back on items like Pell grants is not going to go over big.

For the past four years, repubs have skillfully blame everything and the kitchen sink on Clinton or his penis. They're gonna find that an increasingly difficult sell.

I fall on the side of the divide that believes bushco won more votes than Kerry, and I have a lot of reasons for believing that, including the simple explanation that a majority of Americans like bush. No, they don't like his leadership, the economy or the war, but they like the guy. And they didn't warm up to JK. The importance of the politics of personality cannot be overestimated.

If I"m right, and these things I'm predicting come to pass, no amount of fraud will save the rethugs. And we'll find out in less than 2 years. I'm guessing we'll pick up a few seats in the house and a couple in the Senate, at a minimum. It'll take a couple of election cycles to get us back to parity, but with good leadership, a push for meaningful election reform, solid candidates and a grassroots groundwork, we can make great advances. We're not as broken as the punditry (and a great many of us) think.

they have no choice but to behave as inferior human beings.

They consistently are from the bottom of the class.

And their power is illegitimate - may be why they act

I wonder how many elections the fricking pukes have stolen in the past 30 years.

Not just presidental, but senate elections, house of rep elections, gov elections (they almost did in in Washington State!), city council elections....

I wonder how far and how deep it goes.

24. Think about it...
his polls are the lowest for any re-selected pres, MMoore in all probability, will win the Peoples Choice Award...not to mention a 100+ page pesky little report containing irrefutable evidence of election fraud circulating throughout the country... Oh...forgive me-let's not forget that the moron surrounds himself with individuals that operate under the SAME mindset. Doesn't leave too much room for critical thinking/analysis, does it? They defend their BS by ridicule and mockery, however, that tactic buys limited time. As the MOUNTAIN of EVIDENCE (regarding many aspects of this admin) begins to pile up, clever diversions will not pacify the people in this country. They are pouring way too much fat on their fire to keep it all straight. One day:nuke: their lies will disintegrate and the people (even the sheep) will start to see these clowns for the evil bastards that they are.
