So with the vote denied the people what is next?
With a so what? , the reps have said to the Dems Shut Up. The press says Shut Up. Even many Dem Representatives in Congress said Shut Up.What is next? Who really represents us? With the duplicitious dems again cowing to the reps on the right to vote, our Democracy is gone. With a repug judicial system the fix is in, for a long , long time.

I predict in another 4 years a repeat of what we saw on Thursday, the dems folding once again to the illegitimately power drunk reps.We will no doubt "rise up" as we did Thursday, then the report of all the election fraud documented will be again buried in the maw of the Congressional Record.

In eight years the same thing, and we will have the same dog and pony show.

Face it, the concrete fix of our two so-called free elections has set up after two successful election thefts , and an anestiscised , public and bought media ,and a weak to no opposition party to fight in Congress , it's over. Electronic fraud will replace the paper less problem, but the fixed elections will continue.

Until the people rise up , like in the Ukraine, it's over folks. The reps laugh openly at how they "deliver" their candidate by any means, shredding the Constitution, and noone really noticed. Yes a few "conspiracy theorists" did their thing, but were not taken seriously, ditto in 2008 20012 . It's over folks, until rightful indignation rears it's ugly head, but this will be staved off by a duplicitious media, and the repug ability to hold all the cards. Unless there is a scandel equaling Watergate, which Bob Woodward said would not come to light in today's press , it's a lost Republic folks. Welcome the the new United States , of, by , and for the corprafascists, F the people as dick cheney would say.

2. We need hard evidence.
In Congress, no one was able to say shut-up with photos of the Abu Gharib torture.

3. Simple:
all our other rights will be denied us.

a healthy environment will be denied us.

respectable work in healthy conditions for adequate pay will be denied us.

life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness will be denied us.

Read the handwriting on the wall.

4. There is a breaking point
when a group of people turn into a mob. Something can trigger mob actions and mob violence.

I don't know when this will happen -- it depends on how many people are negatively affected by bush's lies and fraud. It depends on how long the propaganda of the corporate media can keep the masses numb.

But at some point the masses just might become a mob -- and then the primitive instinct takes over. (I've just been brushing up on Social Psychology, Group Psychology and Mass Sociology).

So far we -- liberals and progressives are awake. We ask questions we debate with each other -- and we are basically harmless as a group. We will talk (or post) a problem to death and we vote and hold peaceful protests.

The masses are not yet awake -- but at some point something the bush crime family does WILL wake up the masses. This will not be a pretty sight to see -- the masses don't have a lot of sense -- they operate on the most primitive level.

The bush gang is playing with fire -- most of the votes did go to Kerry but the media is acting like bushie really won the election -- and the masses can be fooled. Ah gee my god damned idiot neighbors voted for that SOB bush. . .

Interest rates raising and people become homeless -- more people lose jobs -- people lose their homes and medical insurance. Income drops -- and more people are out of work. Homelessness increases --

I expect that several of these crisis hitting at the same time would put regions of the country under Marshall law -- and then the masses might get real pissed -- especially if they don't have their TV to tell them how to think.

So my guess is that the bush gang will fuck with everything except the TV propaganda -- which promotes group think and helps spread the bush crime family's propaganda.

The question is -- how bad does it have to get before the lurking mob is awakened and moved to action. Once the mob is awake -- there will be little that can control a mob -- except for violence from the "government" and if that happens more people will wake up.

Or so the theory of Mass/Mob psychology goes.

Anyone have more current classes in Mass Sociology/Psychology?

I took Mass Soc. from a Chinese Professor who could hardly speak English and he really didn't have a clue about basic American Psychology -- but he did know about the forces of Mass Psychology in China.

5. I just don't see a revolution
Any serious organisers will be jailed for sedition. Look at how the protestors were treated in NYC and Miami.Old union members were assulted for following the cops instructions.80 yr olds were throttled beaten for not moving fast enough for the pigs, in their designated protest areas !

With the widespread corruption in Ohio, and Blackwell touting his brilliant win for bush in Ohio, I doubt a budding protest movement will have a chance. Do remember that bush has signed off on incarceration without representation, or charges for your lifetime. This ought to slow some would be protestors.Face it, our Republic is gone.

6. I agree -- there won't be a revolution
any potential leader will be in some sort of "retraining" camp.

What I'm saying (or the theory of Group Psychology/Mass Sociology says) that the Masses will rise up when they reach a breaking point. This won't be organized -- and people will follow without thinking.

One example of Mass Sociology reacting to a traumatic event can be seen in the 90% approval ratings that bushie got post 9/11 -- however I was part of the 10% who will never trust that fuckfaced SOB ever.

If I can see the signs because I have been educated the theory of Group Psychology/Mass Sociology -- you can be sure that "their" side has experts who know how to manipulate the masses.

The masses aren't going to listen to us -- we are (dirty word) liberals. We don't have control of the Propaganda News Networks.

But at some point the bush gang may just steal too much and push the masses too far -- and then Mass psychology will take over -- and then people will be acting on a primitive level. But it won't be an organized movement -- because as you said -- any potential leader will be suicided, executed, assassinated, made irrelevant, ridiculed, jailed, and/or terminated.

I believe that our job is to bear witness -- many of us here are probably "participant observers" -- it is our job to record for future generations what we saw and did to stop the bush crime family. We are making a recording now for future generations to review -- imagine that 50 or 200 years from now graduate students will be writing their PhD papers on a group of dissidents who debated about the condition of the world and were concerned about the generations to follow.

7. You Would Be AMAZED At How Much The Mass Can Take...

That's the problem... people are infinitely elastic, as a group! Look at some of the conditions which occur in the rest of the world. India, Africa, all over, people are crushed, crushed again and crushed until there's nothing left... and they just *take* it.

There are people who work all day long just to get a cup of clean water for their child. EVen in the concentration camps in Germany, the prisoners turned on one another to get crusts from the guards!

It's over.

8. The real test of the Pseudo-Democracy has yet to come...
Edited on Sat Jan-08-05 09:21 PM by Junkdrawer
A while back, I gave my speculation as to WHY the democracy was being suspended:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=203&topic_id=222634

In short, we are about to enter a series of economic crises that will peel paint. In the recent past, the reduction of the middle class has been gradual and was accepted by the people affected as "personal losses". But if a large number of people are affected in mass and over a short period of time, I don't think the current level of propaganda, however impressive, will do the trick.

By removing the safety valve of genuine democracy, I think the Ruling Class is setting itself up for the kind of over reaction the world has seen every time long term tyranny has fallen.

Time will tell.
