Values Issues Policies
People don't care so much for policies, but look to the larger, loftier values. In this case: fairness, opportunity, equal access for all.

5. Agree, Phrases like "Election Reform" Make Peoples Eyes Glaze |
|
Yet they're actually core. But these phrases, like "lobbying reform" have little resonance. Lakoff may hold the key for us to mobilize the victims of our broken system.

6. Yes. Reframe: "No more rigged elections." |
|
Edited on Sun Jan-09-05 02:24 PM by Liberty Belle
While showing a Republican friend a newspaper article on Thursday's challenge in Congress and describing the voting machine "irregularities" to her, her eyes grew wide. "It was rigged, wasn't it?" she whispered, shocked at the realization.
These are words that send a chill up anyone's spine.

7. Framing in terms of values: Freedom and fairness |
|
on each level of the pyramind.
Freedom and Fairness: at the top, our general shared values.
Free and Fair Commerce: between people, businesses, and countries, safeguarded by the people by means of government.
Freedom and Fairness in Media: freedom for all to speak, and fairness by recognizing when the media is acting more like a corporation than an honest citizen.
Free and Fair Elections: Fairness beyond doubt, because of the freedom for any citizen to see the paper record.
