Pretty simple formula. Krongard should know from venture capitalists.

The part of the last sentence that is really disgusting--

"to acknowledge publicly that his capture might prove counter-productive"

to acknowledge--basically saying that this is the correct view and he is just admitting it

It's not that Bush can't catch him, he doesn't want to, and this is the spin that will let him off the hook. All in the family.
