Incidentally he is out to get Ney, who spoke about the need for election reform the other day...Ledeen is also on the warpath for Specter and Biden because of their "softening" on Iran.

now that I live in the fascist states of America...

What's the real story on the letter writing campaign? I've never heard about it before...and somehow it doesn't make sense that it would discourage voters...unless we were calling them names and enclosing spit balls.

7. There was a letter writing campaign
and it backfired.

http://slate.msn.com/id/2109217

...Katz also said he knew all along that the letter-writing project could backfire. So, did it? Almost certainly, yes. In 2000, Al Gore won Clark County by 324 votes. And since Ralph Nader received 1,347 votes, we can assume Gore's margin would have been larger without Nader on the ballot. On Tuesday George Bush won Clark County by 1,620 votes.

The most significant stat here is how Clark County compares to the other 15 Ohio counties won by Gore in 2000. Kerry won every Gore county in Ohio except Clark. He even increased Gore's winning margin in 12 of the 16. Nowhere among the Gore counties did more votes move from the blue to the red column than in Clark. The Guardian's Katz was quoted as saying it would be "self-aggrandizing" to claim Operation Clark County affected the election. Don't be so modest, Ian.

3. Ledeen is off his nut
Edited on Sun Jan-09-05 08:02 PM by jmknapp
He writes:

As the excellent Peter Roff of UPI tells us, "Turnout in Clark County, according to unofficial data from the office of Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, was almost twice what it was in the 2000 election when Gore defeated Bush by 324 votes out of 35,644 cast. Tuesday, Bush carried Clark County by 1,620 votes, winning almost as many votes — 34,444 — as were cast for both Bush and Gore four years before."

Big problem: in 2000 there were 57,559 votes cast in Clark County, not 35,644. No idea where he got the latter number. Gore did beat Bush by 324 votes, so he got that part right at least. But his whole idea of a doubling of turnout is fantasy.

On Nov. 2, 67,595 votes were cast in the county--an increase yes, but only 17%, in keeping with turnout increases across the state.
There is absolutely nothing extraordinary about the Clark County results.

There is an amazing amount of mythologizing going on among the Bush people and their whores in the media. This guy Peter Roff bears some looking into.

4. An all too familiar theme
Edited on Sun Jan-09-05 08:27 PM by me b zola
If you are not with the neo-cons, you are an enemy/traitor, or terrorist. These reminders of their psy-op tactics must strengthen our resolve to take back certain words & symbols that have been co-opted by them--patriot, the American flag, values, morals--the list goes on.

on edit:

This neo-con mouthpiece for the BFEE has the audacity to speak about dangerous relationships to mid-eastern leaders? It is the BFEE and others that profit from their cozy relationship with this corrupt administration, that have business interests in the very nations that they have labeled 'terrorist nations', Iran & Syria are but two examples. Oh, and are we forgetting the long and cozy relationship with the Saudi Royal family as well as the Bin Laudin Family.:nuke:

5. Venomous Pen Award Winner
This is so venom-filled, I don't know where to begin. But, you know me -- I've given it a shot.

"The world at large would view it as a rejection of the war against the terror masters, thereby strengthening the forces of appeasement in allied countries, especially in Europe..."

This is a mighty big and mostly wrong assumption. Nice prognostication. Appeasement? Is he calling Europeans panty-waisted? Can't keep terrorists out themselves? Need the US to help them?

"I believed they would rush toward reconciliation with our European critics, U.N.-ify our Middle East policy, stand by while Iran acquired and tested atomic bombs, and then appease the mullahs — setting the war back by at least two years."

Ah, yes... This is why I voted for the Democrats. I remember now! WTF??? (By the way, for those of you keeping track at home: that's two digs at Europe, so far in our show.)

"It seems this brilliant idea sprung at least in part from the pale white forehead of Sidney Blumenthal: the loyal manservant of Hillary Clinton in the White House; the creator of the short-lived doctrine of the "Third Way" that was to have united "progressive" leaders in America and Europe; a regular contributor to the Guardian; and, along with Michael Moore, a pundit on the BBC's election-night coverage."

Three digs at prominent Leftist thinkers in one paragraph! A New World Record. Not to mention the Extra Bonus Points awarded for bringing the name "Clinton" into the piece. Also, please note this paragraph will bring it up to THREE digs at Europe.

"So, as we quite properly commend the electorate for its good judgment, we should be grateful to our outspoken enemies at the Guardian for having done what they could to guarantee our victory."

That was a nice dig at the Guardian UK, and all you Leftist wusses.

"Maybe we should organize a mass letter-writing campaign."

And, lastly but certainly not least -- a dig at us. Truly worthy of the "Hannity/Coulter Venomous Pen Award." A pox on him. Let's write him letters.

9. This man is a monster.
"...most Americans don't like foreign adventures and are happy to be @ home. Something usually has to happen to get us to act." What in the hell does that mean? I'm almost afraid to ask! As far as "manservant" goes...lets start calling Rove Shrub's manservant! That should get to all of those homophobes on the hill! The audacity of this monster to refer to the attacks on Sept. 11th as the repubs "current unpleasantness" is mind-boggling, at best! Who are these people who refer to themselves as Americans? These monsters aren't American...they are imposter's "posing" as such! :puke:
