Need a little help with my letter
I'm working on a letter to tell the Republicans in Congress that they brought the Electoral Vote Objection on themselves. It's going to have a very objective, bi-partisan flavor to it, but it's going to be tough because they are the ones who blocked no fewer than five (5) verified voting bills since May 2003 in the House and Senate, and they didn't join with Conyers to investigate Ohio. My point is, therefore that the Jan 6 Objection was not only perfectly justified, but in fact, the Repubs brought it on themselves. I will make the letter available to anyone who wants to use it, edit it, copy it, etc.

I then want us to blast the media with opinion pieces, using the same facts, and also blame them for their crappy coverage of these events.

But first things first:

The Ohio stuff is easy. Just blame the Repubs on the House Judiciary Committee for not standing with Conyers and the Dems and holding REAL congressional hearings about the irregularities in Ohio.

The legislative stuff is a bit harder to nail down:

I need to know how bills that make it to "Committee" are actually killed, or allowed to die, by the majority in both the House and Senate. I need to name names. Prime suspects are the Senate's Chairman of the Rules Committee, per Hillary Clinton's remarks on Jan 6, and it's easy to look up that name. But would his counterpart in the House also be a culprit? And what role did Hastert, DeLay and Frist play in not moving these bills ahead?

The ones who failed us must be held accountable, but I don't want to blast too many "innocent" bystanders since we will need the GOP's support to pass these bills. (Get it?)

Anyone who knows more about the workings of Congress or specifically, the facts about who killed these bills, please post here. My letter is almost done, I just need to name the names and send it to the bastards!

Thanks!

3. Here is who voted for/against the final passage in the House
...Oh...and the weasels who voted NO , then saw it would pass easily anyway , so changed to Yes so they could claim they always supported it.

4. Bill Bored, my letter to my republican senator....
....was probably more general than what you're putting together, but since your earlier post was my inspiration for writing it, you can check it out here:

I sent this off to Lisa today.

pk_du,

I was referring to other bills to amend HAVA for verified voting, but I was so hung up on the 1st one, HR2239, that I neglected to find out what happened to other 4 bills in the record. Thanks to you, I started checking them out:

There were 5 of them. 2 House and 3 Senate.

HR2239 and HR4187 both died in the House Administration Committee. So the chairman of this Committee should be blasted along with Hastert and DeLay.

The 3 Senate bills S1980, S2313 and S2437 all died in the Senate Rules Committee, which is what Hillary alluded to.

So I think we have 2 committee chairpeople, plus Hastert, DeLay, and Frist to be written to, plus the House Judiciary Committee Republicans for not supporting Conyers' investigation.

I'll post my stuff on this thread when it's done, and I hope more people will write.
