I watched this movie in HBO last night, some type of "hidden message" perhaps?

Probably not, but I can tell, after watching it, that the big difference between those crooks and these crooks on the WH is that these ones have the media behind them.

I mean, the type of crime in Watergate is EXACTLY THE SAME perpetrated in Lucas County, OHIO:

I'm sure that those thieves in OHIO were just "passing by" the offices of the Democrats. A coincidence, that's all.

The OHIO burglary was ordered very, very high by we know who.

Also, I don't think that you can find people within the administration willing to play "Deep Throat", well, not yet, concerning fraud that is.

and the whore dog Washington Post wouldn't publish it today. It's been that way since IranGate. They must have gotten a little "talking to" by the Repukes. The apogee of their Lilly-livered crap came when they dove head first between Monica's legs and proved to be the biggest "watch queens" in the Western hemisphere (next to Ken Starr who can no longer compete since he's a pro). 10. Katherine Graham died

I think what happened is that Katherine Graham died, and her son took over the newspaper. I read her autobiography, and I clearly got the impression that the son was much more republican/establishment/cautious than his mother. Mrs. Graham really relished good independent journalism, and I think the son is much more cognisant of protecting the bottom line.

After reading the book I was not at all surprised to see the Washington Post turn into a mainstream, careful, vanilla publication.

7. If anyone picks up the fraud story and runds with it...

it's going to be young "turks" like Woodward and Berstein were at the time. The established reporters with the big bucks and "reputations" won't pick this up. If it happens it will be a young up and comer.

8. My letter to the Washed-Up Post, when they drank the Blackwell kool-aid

and ran a sanitized AP story regarding the "recount":

To the editor:

Your recent AP article implies that a recount just occurred in Ohio to determine who won the Presidential race in that state. Nothing could be further from the truth. In a seriously compromised recount, there appears to be not even one OH county that recounted according to the law. Ohio law states that recounts should proceed as follows:

1) Precincts should be chosen randomly (and not ahead of time) to prevent any hanky-panky
2) Tampering with (or even access to) the voting machines ahead of the recount should not be allowed
3) The entire votes in the counties should be recounted by hand when the machine tallies differ from hand count tallies by even one vote in the recount
4) Access to poll books should be freely allowed and not restricted in any way
5) Recount watchers should be allowed in the same rooms as the recounters, allowed to ask pertinent questions, etc.
6) Computer techs who were found to be tampering with the vote counting machines should be allowed to be questioned fully, without those questions being cut off by suddenly-in-a-hurry Republican local election officials
7) Voting machines should be available for inspection by qualified computer techs to ascertain the source codes, computer logs, communications with external sources and other evidence of tampering.

No Ohio county followed the Ohio laws that govern recounts. Thus, the Ohio recount was as much a charade as the original "reported" vote in Ohio. And now Ohio's Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell is seeking protection from being required to testify under oath regarding what he knew, and when he knew it, regarding the election theft in Ohio and the rest of the country.

Folks, this isn't a "third rate" burglary -- it is a violent gang-rape of our democratic process. Where are our Woodwards and Bernsteins -- our Washington Post -- when we really need them?

I wonder how many of us are reminding them regularly that they once were a proud newspaper and now are useful mainly as wall-to-wall carpeting for birdcages. Maybe we need to appeal directly to Ccarl Bernstein. Where is he these days?
