Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy, JFK & 2004
I feel a deep conviction that the forces who assassinated those bright lights are working against us today in Ohio, Florida, New Mexico, in the commercial newspapers and in Fox news.
I have no evidence but my heart. If not those individuals, then their heirs.

The difference is that though we lack the leadership we had then before our lights were taken from us, we will not let our organizations fade. We have decentralized, and with the new power we each have we have new responsibility to make America be America again.

I won't let no body turn me round! We Shall Overcome.

Now to learn how to sing together across the country...because when you get us singing there is just no stopping us.

1. Sad thing is
no one has stood for the death of these men in reality. even in JFKs case at this point in time we have in the official record two scenarios. but the government refused to re-open the case. but there is proof that the single shooter theory is not true. and yet it will remain untouched sealed until 2012 i think - something ridiculous. not until all the players are dead or anyone who can remember is too old to care.

i will dont think anyone who was alive during that time will ever forget. i was in school 7 years old. and even then i knew - a person in a tower doesn't have the power to just shoot the president. but i was a strange child. watched to much twilight zone and old spy movies.

Whatever i learned as a kid it wasn't in school. it was through movies and TV. the problem now is kids dont have that option. unless their parents expose them to alternative media. and educate them and force them to watch some of the great films of the past.

as far as overcoming.. we better hurry. This isn't a one party thing. cover ups take two. thats how they become so successful. I trust conyers. and i think he is going to kick ass. no matter who he has to expose.

go conyers.

2. I'll still care in 2012
God willing still be here too. So will lots of us who like you were kids then. Let's see what we can do between now and then to make sure those assholes
are out of power.
I keep saying, if the country's split in the middle we each just have to convince ONE of them
God bless, aloha

8. 2012 -OT
Interesting... Dec 21, 2012 is when the world ends (according to the Mayans)
You also have 'procession' going on (once every 26,000 years).

Yes, imagine if these great men lived to see today. Our world would be totally different, IMO

4. Wouldn't surprise me a bit.
I wish we had a young Bill Moyers coming up in the journalism field with the mental toughness and temerity to really interview him on this point.
Or a special prosecutor or grand jury, I would be ok with that too.
Better hurry up!

5. I wonder how it is that America's most powerful liberal leaders
so quickly and fatefully incurred the hatred of lone nut gunmen? Why do Republican leaders always seem to get the best in Secret Service protection?

Oh, I'm sorry NYT, I hope that doesn't sound like some crazy internet CT to your editorial board. If you want to quote me, feel free, but it is MY opinion only, nothing to to with DU policy whatsoever. As you and Karl Rove very well know.

10. Yup, the deaths are just too, too convenient to...
...the war profiteers in and out of government (or rather all intertwined)

JFK '63: At the height of his powers, just as he was becoming suspicious of the CIA (after Bay of Pigs) and had decided to de-escalate in Vietnam (a CIA pet project)

MKL '68: At the height of his powers, just after he began speaking out against the Vietnam war and its racist aspects, and had begun to address hardcore economic issues.

RFK '68: At the height of his powers, just after he turned against the Vietnam war, and was running for president as an antiwar candidate, and who was also strong on poverty and other progressive issues--highly charismatic, he was going to win!

(Hiatus--no great liberal leaders for a while--all dead. Carter okay in some ways, but let Reagan get away with committing treason by negotiating with Iran to delay hostage release until after '80 election)

John Lennon '80: Truth-teller. No matter that he didn't tell the truth about Paul--he did on everything else--held in high regard by most people and in high suspicion by the government which tried to deport him. Shot dead in New York, at the height of the slaughter in El Salvador and amidst planning for other US-connected war crimes in Central America (the war on Nicaragua among them).

(Again--no great liberal leaders--Clinton is hardly a liberal, nothing like the greats of the '60s--which is probably why he is still alive.)

Mel Carnahan '00: Opposed John Ashcroft for Senate. Plane fell out of the sky. People voted for the dead candidate over Ashcrap; Carnahan's wife was then appointed, and Ashcrap went on higher things (Jesus, prosecuting Greenpeace).

Paul Wellstone '02: At the height of his powers, had decided to take on the Senate fight against the Iraq war--powerful progressive, also charismatic and fearless. Plane fell out of the sky; experienced pilots; good plane with wing de-icers; other planes--no problem that day--weather okay; FBI on the scene early, for many hours, against protocol.

And lots of character assassination in between (for instance, Howard Dean). Upshot: No leader will be permitted to take power--or gain power--who is against unjustified, large scale, senseless slaughter wars, that greatly benefit the war profiteers in media, government and the "private sector" (i.e., produces nothing but bloodshed and destruction; sucking on the taxpayers' tit).

Lesson: We are a people, a community, who must create our lives and our government by ourselves, with no reliance, or only limited reliance, on leaders, each one doing our part for the whole. There is no other way, with dark forces like these at large in our world.

And it should be no wonder, given this list of losses--every one of them under suspicious circumstances, with the real culprits unknown--that our elected leaders, the Democrats, seem like deer frozen in the headlights (except for a few, and even those cannot say everything they might like to). Pity and compassion are in order--even for people who gave away our right to vote, and gave away their own consitutional right to declare war. WE weren't anthraxed--so we really can't judge them, as to personal courage.

12. Right on Peace Patriot.
This comes under the heading of 'know thine enemy' in my view.

Understand the depth of hatred for the progressive cause and their motivation- I won't call it reasoning, and what they are willing to do.

(Bombing churches too)

Take note of the doctor who died in police custody after stopping on the road to help a little boy who had been hit by a car. We know wrong was done.
What do we do about it?

Build community. Deep in my heart, I do believe, we shall overcome some day.

Dr King said to be the beloved community, be worthy of love. Hold ourselves to a higher standard. but ORGANIZE, and I mean off line too, our neighbors, our neighborhood, our workplace.

In simplest terms it really is about darkness v light, hate v love, war v peace, hunger v plenty, suffering v happiness.

Lots of work to do....

13. All you say is true but there is so much more
this is a topic i would love to talk more about. i dont have time now but there is a web site that links to all the recent incidents since 2000. its incredible. dont you find it interesting that no one ever found out where that anthrax came from? yeah, me too. we need a conspiracy theory forum and it should be for members only. do they have things like that? forums that cant be veiwed by the outside world? just wondering.

16. I worked for Bobby Kennedy in 1968 and when he was cut down
..shortly after MLKingJr. was murdered too. I pledged to fight for his memory and the issues he gave his life for, which is big part of why I see election fraud issue as mother of all issues, cuz the trail of slime leads to the same nest of shadowy criminals, who have now taken over our country.

Thanks for the reminder of why I keep fighting for justice, truth and beauty ...'to seek a newer world' for all.
