All Eyes on Ohio, Few on Florida, Brother Jeb President in 2008
Edited on Tue Jan-11-05 09:26 AM by McCamy Taylor
After the 2000 Election, if the Bushes had suggested running brother Jeh for Prez, even the GOP would have laughed. At that time, it wasnt even certain he would be able to hold onto his current job when it came up for re-election in 2002. Everyone saw how he twisted and perverted the law to help * steal Florida's electoral votes. He was the third most hated person in that fiasco after Katherine Harris and the collective Supreme Court.

This time it is different. This time, the GOP SOS and * Campaign Chair of another state very far from Florida has captured all the limelight by his flaggrant, arrogant, dare one say DRAMATICALLY partisan behavior.

OK, Ill stop beating around the Bush (no pun intended). What if the Bush family is using their favorite ploy of lighting one fire to create one scandal to use as a smokescreen to obscure the smoke from another scandal which they do not want the public to notice. In this case, the fact that the same partisan crap went down in Florida, and that Brother Jeb may have been up to his eyeballs in it this time just as he was last time?

While we are all tarring and feathering Kenneth Blackwell, plotting ways to get him indicted and sent to Club Fed, the Bush Cabal is grooming Brother Jeb to be King Bush the III. This must stop

I suggest that the Investigate Election Fraud Movement widen its scope to include anything and everything Florida, including 2002, maybe even 2000---that one never really got investigated, did it? The MSM will probably declare that 2000 is water under the bridge so 2002 may be the best we can do, but there is plenty from that one that needs to be dealt with, and there sure is a lot from 2004 in Florida that needs to be uncovered.

PUT BROTHER JEB IN THE LIMELIGHT, TOO!

1. Pennsylvania was close.
They almost stole it too, so I bet Penn will figure into it next time.

because he is married to a (gasp!) woman who originally hailed from (gasp!!) Mexico. The wing-nuts are really, really sick of Mexico and Mexicans.

6. A Catholic No Less
Let's not forget about his crack-addicted daughter, too. The shrub family is a real piece of work.

On policy issues, he started out as a moderate and, generally, has drifted farther and farther to the right during his second term. Occasionally, he makes a good call but his administration, for the most part, has consisted of allowing a spineless GOP legislature to do whatever they want.

He handled the 2004 hurricanes passably well.

15. Yes, and I heard George P. Bush was accused of some
*ahem* improprieties (or worse?) involving some women.

Speaking of the Bush children's various religions, what's up with that? I thought that little George W., Jeb, Neil, Marvin, and Doro were probably reared in the Episcopal church? Right? Yet we know that George W. has switched over to some evangelical thing, and Jeb has become a Catholic (to the extent that he thought Our Lady of Guadaloupe helped his brother get appointed to the presidency in 2000...)

Now, I don't get that. Surely the Bush children had a very devout, religious, God-fearing, pious upbringing, right? If so, then wouldn't they be devoted to the "faith of their fathers"? Yet we see at least two of them who switched religions w/o batting an eye. AS IF religion were not even important. (!)

Doesn't sound very religious to me. Gosh, could all their emphasis on their piety and religion be a... sham?

Henderson. She was seeking money to keep quiet about her affair with the him. He never addressed the allegations even after he was aware that he was being videotaped by an FBI surveillance camera at the 2001 Super Bowl held in Tampa.

12. The base will not get excited over the heavy spanish accent
and there are all the skeletons in his closet. Thinks about everything that has been messed up in FL other than the 2000 election. e.g. Education 50th in the country on and on! Shady dealings prior to the governorship etc etc

3. I think you're right about the bait and switch used re: Ohio
Of course Florida's as corrupt as it was in 2000. Our own banana republic! Yes the MSM will ignore the 2000 election bullshit as "history," but I think we should concentrate on anything that shows a pattern. Jeb was right in the election nonsense in FL in 2000 AND 2004.

To keep another Bush from being President, we need to play on Jeb's weaknesses as a candidate: the druggie daughter, the wife skirting the law on import taxes, and the messiness in general of Florida (since a lot of FL officials are appointed by the governor, that would speak to Jeb's judgement). I've had it with the Bush family's swaggering sense of entitlement in perpetrating a dynasty on America, especially such a greed-ridden, damaging dynasty.

4. Could the infighting with Bev Harris have been started by Karl Rove?
Edited on Tue Jan-11-05 12:02 PM by McCamy Taylor
She was down in Florida gathering dirt while other people were focusing on Ohio. Maybe Rove didnt want anyone looking at Florida so he planted some people to drive a wedge.

I wasnt paying any attention to the fight at the time. Any one else care to comment? Could someone have been manipulating us? Be honest.

5. No, the problem was Bev's ego/greed, not Karl Rove
The evidence that Bev has lied to us and people like Randi Rhodes is quite compelling. Karl Rove didn't fire Andy Stephenson or file a qui tam law suit in California, Bev did. Karl Rove didn't smear Rebecca Mercuri, Avi Rubin, David Dill and just about every other anti-BBV activist, Bev did.

Folks are getting mighty tired of being called a shill for Karl Rove just because they dare speak the truth about Bev.

Hell, Bev started warming up to Freepers and claimed Bush bought her book and is on her side. Bev deleted the post when it was spotted, by fortunately I have preserved it for posterity:

Please do not bash 'freepers' -- here's why that is a term that comes from Free Republic, a political forum. Free Republic has had some outstanding discussions on voting machine integrity in the past. I have gotten some good consultation from "freepers."

We are nonpartisan. Everyone who's not a criminal wants clean elections. One of our board members, Jim March, has done some fantastic work on this issue, and I guess you'd describe him as a "freeper" -- he's a gun lobbyist who supports George Bush.

You may be very surprised at who's in our corner on this issue. In fact, George Bush ordered my book, had it overnighted.

We do NOT need any more help from Bev.

11. I do NOT believe Bush ordered the book
She's either lying or delusional. There is a fractional chance someone masqueraded as Bush and "fooled" her, but that bespeaks a level of gullibility that requires never being let out of the house without a keeper.

because she was banned. She was banned for constantly smearing people and threatening to sue DU.

widespread systematic dirty tricks and suppression of minority voters in many counties. The media just hasn't covered it though it was well documented. Some people do a better job of controlling the media than others it seems.

There was widespread and systematic voter suppression of minority voters, dirty tricks, vote machine fraud, dirty tricks and other vote manipulation in Florida,Ohio, New Mexico, - that was of magnitude enough to call in question who won those states.

(the voter suppression of minorities in Mercer County is the worst I've ever seen-followup needed; though also extremely bad in other states)
The unethical and illegal actions were so systematic and widespread that this cannot be allowed to continue uninvestigated and unpunished. There was a huge amount of obvious malfeasance and dirty tricks that should be investigated and dealt with

18. This seems like the Warren County/Triad of Florida-the Bev Tapes
http://www.commondreams.org/views04/1118-22.htm

A "poll tape" is the phrase used to describe a printout from an optical scan voting machine made the evening of an election, after the machine has read all the ballots and crunched the numbers on its internal computer. It shows the total results of the election in that location. The printout is signed by the polling officials present in that precinct/location, and then submitted to the county elections office as the official record of how the people in that particular precinct had voted. (Usually each location has only one single optical scanner/reader, and thus produces only one poll tape.)

Bev Harris of www.blackboxvoting.org, the erstwhile investigator of electronic voting machines, along with people from Florida Fair Elections, showed up at Florida's Volusia County Elections Office on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 16, 2004, and asked to see, under a public records request, each of the poll tapes for the 100+ optical scanners in the precincts in that county. The elections workers - having been notified in advance of her request - handed her a set of printouts, oddly dated November 15 and lacking signatures.

Bev pointed out that the printouts given her were not the original poll tapes and had no signatures, and thus were not what she'd requested. Obligingly, they told her that the originals were held in another location, the Elections Office's Warehouse, and that since it was the end of the day they should meet Bev the following morning to show them to her.

Bev showed up bright and early the morning of Wednesday the 17th - well before the scheduled meeting - and discovered three of the elections officials in the Elections Warehouse standing over a table covered with what looked like poll tapes. When they saw Bev and her friends, Bev told me in a telephone interview less than an hour later, "They immediately shoved us out and slammed the door."

20. How did the US Great Seal get on an Ohio letter? Did Karl Rove type it?
Maybe he didnt have an Ohio seal handy so he used the one he had when he whipped up a fund raising letter for his boy in Ohio.

This begs the question, did he deliberately put in the part about "corporate contributions" as a joke, refering to Tom Delay and his problems down in Texas, as well as for serious effect, to keep media eyes on Blackwell?

Has Karl Rove lost himself in a world of self parody?
