Those who stood in opposition to DEMOCRACY on 01-06-05:
New and Improved! (Per requests, now includes DC fax numbers.)

I am now in the midst of working on a comprehensive directory of contact info for the entire 109th Congress (phone numbers, fax numbers, snail mail and email addresses). I hope to have it completed and double-checked by this weekend.

In the meantime, here is a list of the members of Congress that might need a little help understanding the true immensity of the election "irregularities" - based on facts, not newspaper editorials! (What a defense - ROFLOL!)

1. Thank you so much for this. I plan to fax them and then forward a synopsis
of what I have sent to the media.

I have House judiciary contact info too, but is it more important now to be hounding the GAO?

6. Thanks, Ojai! I'll look for the GAO contact info.
And personally, I plan on hounding all of them! Since I'm stuck in Utah, I plan to write letters and send supporting documentation to help our election reform movement grow legs.

3. THANK them? For trying to whitewash a stolen election?
I don't think so!

Fax & e-mail them....let them know that if we're going to have fair elections in this country, they'd better get their heads out of their asses. The evidence of malfeasance is overwhelming!

Geepers, I just gave my self the creepers.

It was a drooped thread I thought to kick/thought was the senators that spoke with us.

Next time, I'll finish the cup of coffee before I post.

Thanks Sue.

9. One down. My letter to Keller, FWIW:
Name, address, phone

cc: major media, along with speech text

January 11, 2005

Dear Honorable Representative Keller:

You gave quite an impassioned speech on the floor of the House of Representatives on January 6, 2005, after the certification of the electoral votes from Ohio was challenged by Representative Stephanie Tubbs-Jones and Senator Barbara Boxer.

In looking over your remarks, several stand out, but I would like to call your attention to a question posed near the end of your speech: "Why allow conspiracy theorists to undermine public confidence in the electoral system itself?"

Let me answer by saying that calling Rep. Conyers and other members of the Congressional Black Caucus "conspiracy theorists" seems a stretch, if it isn't just plain racist. And questioning an election's procedures is not exactly undermining public confidence, unless you are working in a system where the public is not supposed to be informed. If anything, public confidence is heightened by knowing the truth. By trying to discourage investigation of valid complaints, you actually help make people more skeptical of the integrity of the electoral process.

People who did not feel comfortable with the election -- not because of its outcome, but because of major problems experienced and reported on Election Day in parts of Ohio, or in Florida in 2000, for that matter -- had legitimate complaints. These complaints should have been welcomed, heard, and investigated. By trying to shut out all honest discussion of legitimate fears and concerns, you have contributed to making the people less confident in the electoral process.

And that, Representative Keller, is precisely why Michael Moore is necessary in this culture. The truth has to come out somehow, and people are so eager for it that they will pay to see it. The offerings on C-Span, while entertaining, as many will find your speech, as it becomes well-known in the next few years, are sadly not where we go anymore for the truth.

On Sunday night the people demonstrated their overwhelming appreciation of Michael Moore's latest film by awarding it the People's Choice Award for Best Movie. We want to know the truth. I would think that as a statesman, as one in a position to influence so many and to do some good in this world, that the truth would also be of use to you.

Sincerely, :hi:

12. Nice letter!
I wrote one to Michael Moore after the "debates" and signed it:
A Proud Member of the "Michael Moore Wing" of the Democratic Party!
