An Allegory: "The dwarves are for the dwarves" |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-11-05 09:56 PM by Der Blaue Engel
Forgive my dorky references to a pseudo-religious-allegory, but...anybody remember this quote from C.S. Lewis's The Last Battle?
The dwarves began shooting the talking horses as they rode in to help in the final, desperate hours of the battle for truth...they weren't on the side of the deceivers, but they had no loyalty to the true Narnians, either. They just shot off arrows at random, to get in their digs and stand together in self-righteousness.
I think I see dwarves in here, sometimes, sitting in the corner of the barn, swearing that someone is trying to make them eat hay.
Just my own allegorical thought for the evening.

But there may be some PC folks pissed about dwarf-bashing.
As long as we let "divide and conquor" define us, there IS no "us." And then, "they" win.

I meant the mythical creatures called dwarves in the realm of fantasy literature. Whatever else could I have meant?
:)
And I'm still going to try to give the dwarves something good to eat. Maybe they'll see it for what it is someday. Like Lucy, they make me sad, not angry.
