Little freaked out right now |
|
I now i am going to sound paranoid but... the Netscape forum i am on went off line this morning. When it started back up the user names were missing. This was goofy but could have been server error. But then my favorites list blacked out for a little bit. It is probably nothing but in light of the new "laws" i get nervous. Terrorist is now definable by the people i criticize daily. And punishable by them as well. I am not computer savvy but i have some protection software advised by a friend. Does this sound suspicious to anyone in the know?

1. What forum sofware did they use? |
|
There was a known bug affecting some php forum scripts that would wipe out the entire contents of the forum if not patched. This started a little over a month ago, people are still being affected and still patching.

6. Usually it'll say somewhere on the page "Powered by" and then |
|
something like PHPbb or InvisionBoard or something of the sort.
It's more likely to be a bug or somebody fooling around than to be anything insidious from any new law or anything.

if we get audited by the IRS this year I'll know for darned sure it was because of my lobbying efforts against the Bush administration. How's that for paranoid?

5. You should work under the assumption that they already read it all. |
|
I do. I choose to speak and operate in the light.
Freedom has be be exercised in order to exist.
If I suffer ill consequences for exercising my freedoms, then perhaps others will see how free we truly are.
Regardless, my advice is to assume that they are reading this, and accept that the exercise of free speech often comes with consequences.

10. Do you have a firewall? |
|
You need to have a firewall on your computer that blocks any attempts of others to "hack" into your harddrive. I know you can download them or purchase them at Frye's. Perhaps someone out there has a good website for this?

My husband works for a computer that deals with software and computer systems so he's loaded up our computers with the latest and greatest. All I know is it makes our home network a pain in the ass to deal with sometimes. LOL!

I misunderstood. I thought you were suggesting becuase i asked for assistance i was bending to fear. I want my kids safe. And i want to bring Bush down. Sorry. I am not usually like this. I am defensive of my loyalty to fighting this, while at the same time attempting to be realistic about the dangers. I am furious that there is even a reason to be afraid. THIS IS AMERICA! It is my country and i love it, but i do not recognise it anymore. : (

i thought on the first Wed every mo. Today it went off. People went outside and were flipping. There were police sirens running up and down my street all day. I am a bit tense. It was unusual.

I live near an AFB and they have had unusually heavy C130 activity this week. Those behemoths fly so low over my house I'd swear they were going to take the roof off. I can't imagine how unnerved I'd get during an unexpected nuclear facility test. *shudder*

The insane folks running our government have many of us reacting in ways we don't usually act. Ask my husband. He doesn't recognize me these days. ;)
And hey, you've been keeping me company while I count down the minutes until I put the youngest down for a nap.

That's why I always leave my name on the on-line petitions I sign. If they're going to start harassing us for exercising our constitutionally protected rights, I would be proud to be an example.
