history of exit polls in US elections....my personal memory |
|
50s elections, and maybe 60s.....my mother was in the League of Women Voters in OK......the OK League, and I assume the League of other states, was contacted by one of the 3 networks to provide exit polls the day of the election ......the League was paid something, I think......I remember this as a big deal...
they did only specific precincts.....
does anyone here know anything about this, have personal memory of such activities?.....

But it became very expensive. The VNS consortium was formed, I believe, in 1992. There is also the post-election survey that has been conducted by the political science Department at the University of Michigan since 1952.
