"Myth Breakers for Election Officials" -- from votersunite.org
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 06:30 PM by understandinglife
A Collection of Information Essential to Those Entrusted with Making Decisions about Election Systems in the United States

One quote suffices:

"Many of the officials responsible for making election system decisions don't have time to do the extensive, time-consuming research required to learn the enormous variety of information that has become available about voting systems. Those in one state may not be aware of the problems election officials in other states are encountering with the equipment they are using."

http://www.votersunite.org/takeaction/mythbreakers.pdf

If you do nothing but send this with a personal letter to each of your representatives in the 109th US Congress and arrange to discuss it with your State representatives and Board of Election officials you will be doing much good.

Peace.

5. Community service kick#1....
....if others can do the same for the next 48 h or so, just want all DUer's to have access to this resource.

Excerpting quotes from it in correspondence with media, elected officials, family, friends, students, ....., is quite useful.

Peace.

10. Tracking system for which officials have recieved it?
This is an important enough document--and such a long one--I think it would be good to try to recruit people to take on sending it to key players and track where it's been sent. Or, better yet, have people ask for a meeting and deliver it in person. I think that in California this next week there are hearings about choice of voting technology. Does anyone know about this? Is anyone going who could personally deliver copies to state legislators in California?

13. Good suggestion. Why don't you contact....
....hedda_foil by pm and check to see what type of tracking verfiedvoting may already be doing. Then each of us could just email them as to those we have distributed copies.

Peace.
