He settled out of court with all the lawsuits against him and the state of Florida. There were like 2000 people that had lawsuits against the state for disenfranchisement. I guess Jeb used the state's money (in other words, the peoples' money) to pay them off. He said he did not want this hanging over his campaign.

and estimate the resources of my fellow DU'ers quite well and so this is how I imagine the upcoming days spent at the Ohioans for Ken Blackwell office.

Hour One - dozens of bags of mail are delivered to the office and excited individuals empty the bags.

Hour Two - no longer excited individuals open envelopes filled with pennies, deception dollars and glitter.

Hour Three - spent opening envelopes filled with nickels, packets of KY jelly and choice poems.

Hour Four - some time is lost after lunch because KY jelly prompts stray conversation

Hour Five - excitement, after spending four hours opening bogus envelopes an actual campaign contribution is discovered! It's a check for only $10.00 - understandable though since the B*sh economy is so weak.

Hour Six - spent opening envelopes containing monopoly money, go to jail cards, blue paper clips, and the small circles of paper emptied from a paper puncher.

Hour Seven - Disgusted and disheartened individuals contemplate the value of their time and draw straws to determine who is stuck informing Mr. Blackwell about the take for the day.

Last Hour of the Day - Small circles of paper litter the carpet surrounding folks who are covered in glitter that now notice the KY Jelly packets are mysteriously missing. They reminisce about the lone contribution found among the piles of bogus envelopes. No one looks forward to the following day.

Goodness, this scenario is entirely possible folks! I visit totally unrelated sites on the Internet and notice discussions and links to DU. This site is truly an important hub of activity because so many well informed, knowledgeable, intelligent, determined, respected and creative people post here.
