I totalled the NJ "military" vote for all the counties. Here it is
First a couple obvious questions.

Why are most counties showing no federal overseas? Is it possibly because military votes go through a military station instead of through each person's home town?

What is the difference between military and federal overseas? Is there any difference?

Where are the absentee ballots accounted for? Are they included in various precincts without being shown?

I guess if no one here knows the answer I'll call them on monday.

If anyone has any more military vote data for any other state please PM me, i want to start collecting this info.

Here goes:

peace,
gary

5. Wow, that is extraordinarily revealing! Morris, Sussex, and Warren...
counties are all WAY Republican:

Morris
Bush 57.5%
Kerry 41.7%

Sussex
Bush 64.1
Kerry 34.6

Warren
Bush 61.3%
Kerry 37.4

7. Awesome! Question
I've been wondering about this for a long while now.
Now, are you saying that all the above votes are "federal overseas" votes and not specified as military? Who else would that include, embassy and CIA personnel?

8. I do not know if it includes citizens living abroad?
That's the big question to me. If it includes CIA and other pseudo military, it might as well be military. But if it includes citizens living abroad, it would diminish the significance of the data.

30. It would at least show that people not dumbed down by our
'free press' are more likely to vote for Kerry.

Federal agencies that employ individuals overseas include, but are not limited to the following agencies:

Department of Agriculture
Department of Commerce
Department of Defense
Department of the Air Force
Department of the Army
Department of the Navy
Department of State
Agency for International Development
Peace Corps
U.S. Information Agency

9. Hmm...Kerry, 875... Bush, 360...
It appears that those military people are TRYING TO TELL US SOMETHING.

And we're listening, but powerless to do anything. I feel like I'm paralysed. Having Bush in Washington gives me a sick feeling all over.

Let's see... Bush will be surrounded by a ring of military at his coronation... kind of reminds me of that old joke about Joey Heatherton. Sexy actress Joey Heatherton was to perform for the troops, and they said "she'll be guarded onstage by 20 marines..." someone said, "but who'll be guarding her from the marines?"

12. This is just a guess . . .
. . . but "federal overseas" might refer to votes using the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot. These would probably be mostly military, but certainly not exclusively so.

This interpretation is consistent with the fact that there are no "federal overseas" votes shown for the state senate race on the NJ Secretary of State website. State offices can't be voted on the FWAB.

15. Monmouth has a few fairly large military facilities.
Naval Weapons Station Earle and Fort Monmouth, to name two. But Neighboring Ocean has much more and lists 0. Does not make sense from that perspective. Maybe Earle is where the Military post Office is?

18. Ok folks, My Team Manager at work is in Iraq now. (He's from Mercer)
He is an E5 or an E6 can't remember his exact rank, talked to him 2 days ago - he's safe for time being. Anyway - He told us before he left that he is Kerry 100% and that no one in his unit told him they were voting for the Chimp. SO I think these military numbers (If they are indeed them)reflect that.

Did anyone see 'Fraud' O'Neil (Not So Swift Boat Liar leader) get shredded to pieces on Nightline before the election? O'Neil was so upset, he kept trying to hide himself with his pathetic books and was about ready to burst into tears.

These are the overseas vote totals. There is no way to tell if they are military. Remember, it is still a secret ballot.

28. I think you're right
After doing a bit more research I see the federal absentee ballot can be for military, federal civilians, but also for normal citizens who applied for a regular absentee ballot, but didn't receive it on time. If they had a Florida scam going where they didn't actually send out ballots to people they would vote for Kerry, the federal absentee ballot could be downloaded by those folks and sent in.

32. it's not all overseas ballots, it's only *federal* overseas
regular overseas are included in absentee ballots.

i'm going to call NJ next week to get more details but I think it's pretty safe to assume that most of these votes are military

25. I remember hearing that the military votes go through the
Pentagon. I heard this during the campaign period. I don't have a source or a link. My guess is that they do go through military channels. What did you find out about this?

Good job on the tallies. It's interesting, I think that idea that military voted for chimpy is overblown like everything else "President" Chicken Little says.
