Suggestions Needed for Inauguration Day

I've just read that if I bring a backpack to DC with me on the 20th, I won't be able to get into the parade route areas. I wanted to take my Nikon 35mm camera with me but that is out I guess. I have a small digital I could keep in my pocket.

I also want to take my minDV camcorder to videotape the events. Any suggestions on what I carry this in? Maybe a wheelchair or baby stroller since those are allowed?

I think bag requirements read 8"x6"x4". Is that a fanny pack? I need help folks, I was planning on packing in food and water and such but I guess that's out since no backpacks are allowed.
