A dirty election
Regarding the Nov. 29 letter that "there were no major irregularities or difficulties" in the 2004 election: Nothing could be further from the truth.
The Free Press newspaper in Ohio is running one article after another about Republican dirty tricks, including diverting voting machines from black neighborhoods to white neighborhoods to create long lines for black citizens.
The Poll Tax of 2004 in Ohio is that some blacks could only vote if they could wait in line for several hours, away from their jobs and their families.
No one knows what the outcome would have been if there had been an equal number of voting machines per citizen in white and black neighborhoods, but it is clear that the 2004 election is tainted.
