Something we can do now: Project Democracy
I just posted this, but I'd like to throw this up for general comment.

Democrats have to do something very important in the next year, I think.

(1) Conduct a mass canvassing of the Democratic base in every state and every precinct. Ask these questions, in the framework of a written affidavit to give it legal standing:

a) Who did you vote for?
b) Why did you vote for him?
c) What are your 3 most important issues?

(2) Provide the same opportunity for every Republican who wishes to make his voice known the same opportunity.

Call it Project Democracy.

Lets count our own votes.........

1. This is a good idea
I was thinking of doing something along the same lines here in Arkansas, but mainly for those who voted Republican. I'd like to know what their three top reasons were. I bet privatizing Social Security was not one of them. I bet abortion and gay marriage were. What exactly has Bush said about the latter two issues since the election? I bet he doesn't do a thing about them, as they have outlived their political usefulness.

(1) Show the base that the Party is doing something tangible in defense of our Democracy.

(2) Provide a clear message to our leadership unfiltered by the Republican corporate media machine.

Now that Edwards is "unemployed", he'd be the perfect person to run this. He certainly should have the motivation, I think.
