4. We already are in one
If you can't see that we got everyone these cheats by the collar, you have missed. Now they want to steal our franchise to chose who and what are government will be about. They are losing more and more in the process. The information revolution is slapping them in the face :kick:

6. what a pointless poll
I am sorry, but there isn´t going to be a revolution. This is not 1777 when both sides have muskets. Even large-scale protests like Miami FTAA and NY RNC week were closer to slaughters. And you think New Yorkers were less pissed off during RNC week than we all are right now? Let me assure you, no. Even Seattle was but a riot. So no, there won't be revolution in the streets. That's an archaic notion.

Neither are we going to Unite Behind Him. I am sorry, but the two options you present remind me of insane mainstream corporate media polls where the options are impossible, inexplicable and make you crazy.

11. I agree pretty much

but I do not believe that it is ridiculous to try to get grass roots support in helping Shrub commit suicide with his already bs economic policies: i.e., spending less, spreading the word to fellow dems to spend less (and definately nothing at companies like Walmart). Do the thrift shop thing for clothes, etc. I also am trying to find European and other discussion formats like this to encourage those folks to put their money to work against shrub by boycotting American products. I used to try and buy American, but America doesn't deserve it anymore. Now I'm going to TRY and buy foreign.

16. those are good ideas
but that's not revolution, that's grassroots democracy and direct action, two awesome things. It is much more useful to think of such tactical strategies than to run around yelling Viva La Revolucion.

8. Any real "revolution" is at least 90% a political game.
Do we know who is who: who is on our side and who is not, street by street, house by house?

Do we understand precisely how local power structures work: who gives money to who, who moves the cogs of government for who, what their real interests are, and how they are motivated? This is critical for scientific understanding of exactly how our opponents will behave.

Do we understand what local opinion is on key issues and how it is formed? This is critical for winning public relations battles. Perhaps the best way to develop this understanding is by direct grassroots organizing around some specific progressive issue (anti-war, anti-BBV, pro-public-transportation, etc etc). There's only one way to reach local citizens: get out and talk to them and listen to them.

Do we know how to work with other people who may not agree with us on other issues/objectives when we have a common issue/objective we can all agree needs to be accomplished? Coalitions is the name of this game: forge a temporary tool for a specific task.

No "revolution" has ever succeeded spontaneously. Success comes with realistic perception of the facts, correct thinking about possibilities, and disciplined hard work. Those who control the organs of power (including media) have a number of ways to intimidate and marginalize anyone who challenges their regime.

15. It may have been Clinton
Look at this comment he made recently: "This election presents a great opportunity for President Bush and a great opportunity for Democrats, and the two are not necessarily in conflict,"

18. Revolution: A sudden or momentous change in a situation
I think we have the power to do this. Change your lifestyle. Stop buying crap. Think about where your money goes. Tell others!! Let's do this.
