Multi-prong way to fight back: divert Christmas $$ to fraud investigions?

Think of it... If the average DUer spends $100, $200, $500 or whatever....


And we chose NOT to bolster Bush* corporate American and his economy but rather devote our moneys to trying to reestablish democracy in this country...

Imagine-- not only with DU, but other progressive websites, blogs. If we garnered 50,000 or even 100,000 or more, each donating to BBV.org AND a major legal fund, since we'd need many more sources of help in addition to our hard-working core--perhaps enlisting Greg Palast and his team of investigators to help? ACLU? Major big league progressive law firm?..... What a lesson on the true meaning of Christmas for our kids-- Christ, after all would want us to fight for the weakest among us--the very ones whose votes were taken from them...

2. That's it. Let's create a fund and send $ in honor of people on our

Christmas list. We can use this fund for investigations, full page ads and bill boards and commercials.

3. Working on setting up the legal fund right now!

BBV, as a 501c-3 organization can't collect money for recounts "for" candidates (who are the only ones who can request recounts in most states). We're working on putting together a legal fund that can be used in any recount/challenge for any federal office (if we find evidence of fraud in Congressional/Senate races) any state.

Hang onto your recount pennies; the mechanism will be in place ASAP (hopefully today).

4. I think time is of the essence and this is a project that DU could

take the helm-- just as with the "two-faced" Bush campaign (failed, but you get the point), we could solicit this effort by leagues of other progressive forums and blogs.

Think s of tens of thousands of progressives giving up Christmas and donating $100 or more to this effort. We would be so invested in it and the very scale of the effort might well result in media attention. This would be very embarrassing to the Bushies* if you could imagine a story of families discussing the importance of ensuring the vote, democracy, and why that is so critical to the true teachings of Christ and the meaning of CHristmas. Not that this needs to be a Christian effort only-- but clearly that would be a very telling message to the fundies!

7. My spending is down 90%..... I am eating through the pantry stored food

and have downsized dramatically.... I walk nearly every time I need groceries (which is truly a pain, but nonetheless).
