In this country THERE IS NO WAY TO TRACK THE VOTES.

THE MEDIA'S CANDIDATE WAS "*". More wars, sweet deals, more money and ratings.

The Democratic opposition is conditioned to react and bullied by the corporate media. Their presidential candidates (DNC) ARE BAD FOR THE MEDIA APPARATUS. The voting numbers are directly reported to the media, not to a central impartial institution where they can be accessed real time by regular people, opposition party representatives or observers.

You opinions (via exit polls) DON'T BELONG TO YOU. BELONG TO THE MEDIA.

In order for the Democrats to "win" the White House, that individual is going to need to "make a deal" with the media owners. Direct deal, good enough to get a fair treatment.

Your next set of candidates, guys, will have to be ACCEPTABLE FOR THE MEDIA, NOT FOR YOU.

If the "media" likes them they'll "win", I mean their numbers will be posted accurately on the TV screens reflecting their victory.

The democratic sytem in this country died in the year 2000, sorry.

2. It's easier to just put them out of business. Which we seem to
be doing. Good work, guys.

4. Don't put them out of business.
Especially CNN. Just depress their value, to where TW wants to offload them for pennies on the dollar.

3. Does anyone know the true value of CNN?
Considering their ratings, and viewership, they cannot be all that expensive.

5. And think about the push for voting machines
What's the advantage of electronic voting machines over paper ballots other than that the media get the "results" faster?

What if the poor little old media outlets had to wait for the next day or two before they could report who had won?

If I were national elections czarina, states could have electronic machines if they wanted to and could report the results to the media, but only the tallies of paper ballots would actually count.

8. Hell, the media are determining the outcome.
Edited on Tue Jan-18-05 06:53 AM by Carolab
The NEP is a media consortium, remember? And who "tallied" the votes? The AP. This is where fraud is taking place. They are hard-wired to the exit polls and the "results", remember? The moment our votes became "computerized" we were screwed. It's been happening since 1975 (at least) and it's only gotten worse. We need to get machines out of our voting system.

7. Good point Raul
Here is some reasons for optimism.

1) Today's 14 year olds will be voting in 2008. Oh yeah, and they're a lot more tolerant and progressive than today's 18 year olds who are pretty damn good.

2) The decline in the media influence is going to reach an exponential rate in about 12 months. CNN-CBS merger; what irony. Turner tried to buy CBS in the 80's and was rebuffed because he was not 'of the type' to own a network. Now CBS and CNN news think that they're no longer viable as stand alones.

3) The Left is getting really good at infrastructure, i.e., the internet. I know the Right is out there but our sites are better by far, dynamic, and linked. We're locked and loaded.

4) 2006 will be so closely watched we win either way. If they cheat, we'll catch it in real-time. If they don't, well they're screwed since today's 16 year olds will be voting in 2006.

It would be nice to make a deal with the media. Maybe we could do it just to boost their self-esteem, you know, make them feel like they're still players. We could pay them in monopoly money.

Rock on!

12. I agree with your overall rationale...
However, the direct deal must be made.

That's reality.

The DNC today HAS NO CHANCE TO GET FAIR COVERAGE on the American TV networks or papers. NONE.

13. *buzz* wrong!
It's alive and kicking. Problem is, most people can't see where at or how "their" (the neoCon) system is falling apart in real time. I'll provide a couple of examples, the trick is being able to link disparate pieces of info together to see the whole. It's a fun game, you should try the home version! ;-)

First the stuff you already know. The Blackwell situation with the DoJ (now that's a sticky one). Barbara Boxer whipping the stuff'n outta Condo'leeza. And their selected Prez'nit having his electors contested. See, stuff everyone can agree has happened. Easy.

Now the not so easy stuff to see. I'll only give you one.

Fox network is in the crapper because the public is actively rejecting their "programing". Not good for Fox.

(here's an article, and it's fresh stuff)

http://www.oregonlive.com/living/oregonian/peter_carlin/index.ssf?/base/exclude/110605296481130.xml

<snip>

Not the executives at Fox Broadcasting. After all, the proud home of "Arrested Development" (which added Jason Bateman's best comedy actor Golden Globe to its richly stocked awards shelf Sunday night) and "24" also has "Who's Your Daddy?" chained up in the attic.

<snip>

All of which puts Fox/Berman in a strategic pickle. Once they had been able to count on cheap-yet-popular reality shows to subsidize their expensive-yet-struggling jewels such as "Arrested Development." What do they do now that the Jekyll and Hyde technique seems to be faltering?

Say as little as possible, for one thing.

<CUT>

Say as little as possible? What?? Yeah, that's the ticket. Isn't this DU's experience with the MSM? They're saying as little as possible about what's going on in the progressive movement for the same reasons the content broadcasters are about their plummeting ratings from the "asleep" masses.

The things people are talking about on DU are taking place in multiple venues across this country. The problem is most people think their "thing" is all there is to the game. The neoCons have bet the farm on an asleep, disconnected population. But if their sedative machine breaks down, for whatever reason, then what have they got?

DU.

:-D

14. You're just having this revelation?
Some of us have been saying that for many years.

When Arnold Schwarzennegger won in CA, that was pretty much proof positive.

That was part of the reason I did not want Kerry to be the nominee. Saw that a mile away.

17. You're right
This takes it several steps further than just the media turning a blind eye to what happened Nov 2nd. But rather it speaks to the fact that the media is in total control of who gets elected-with the help of news blackout and news distortion, black boxes and exit polls, etc., etc.

To me, this is much more ominous than them just trying to stay in *s good graces and follow along with the program. But rather, it is a blatant move on their part to control the minds, lives and future of the entire population of this country. :puke:
