Boxer Needs Help: Send CNN, MSNBC e-mails
I'm on the warpath. Since Dems don’t seem to be rallying around Barbara Boxer, how about we help her? Send e-mails supporting Barbara Boxer to the two cable stations covering the hearings:

CNN:
http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form5.html?5

MSNBC ("Hardball" link since Chris Matthews is covering hearing?):
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697 /

This is what I wrote in my e-mail:

"Thank God Barbara Boxer is questioning Condoleezza Rice regarding Iraq. It doesn’t seem right to me that someone who provided false information about the threat posed by Iraq is going to be the new Secretary of State. I am appalled by Senators who seem to be giving Ms. Rice a “free pass” on the way to confirmation. Doesn’t providing false information mean anything?? And don’t they care that Ms. Rice missed the warning signs of an impending Al Qaida attack???? How can we promote someone who has made so many mistakes in judgment? I just don’t get it.

Please pay attention to this issue in your coverage of the hearings: Americans need to understand these issues better than they currently do. Thank you very much for listening!!"

Maybe they won't spin the story and dismiss Boxer if we bomb them with e-mails.

10. I'm afraid I wasn't as polite as you'all in my emails to these
medial whores, although I didn't stoop low enough to call them that! I did use very strong language though in asking them when they are going to start reporting the truth instead of being a shill for the * Admin.

12. To CNN
I am very glad that Barbara Boxer and the other Senate Democrats are subjecting Condoleezza Rice to tough questioning regarding Iraq, and I applaud those portions of your coverage that are unbiased and informative. Condoleezza Rice has continually lied to the American people about the reasons for invading Iraq and the killing of over 100,000 of its people. The real reasons clearly have nothing to do with Iraq WMDs, Saddam Hussein or Iraqi "freedom," and everything to do with privatizing Iraq's economy, controlling its oil, and protecting Israel. We should not have this congenital liar as Secretary of State.

In addition to all the lying, Rice further failed us on 9/11 by ignoring numerous warnings about the attack and doing NOTHING to prepare for it, including FAILING to mobilize NORAD and insure the safety of our nation's capitol--a simply appalling failure of duty. How can the Republicans promote someone who has made so many mistakes in judgment?

Please help educate Americans about these matters. The news media has ALSO failed us by its lack of investigation into the real reasons for the Iraq War, the real story of 9/11, and the real results of the 2004 election. Please don't fail us again! To have a democracy, we MUST have a free press. Investigate the war-mongers!

14. can't send to MSNBC...
at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3303518/

Their contact page links won't click to my email program (MAC OS 10, Microsoft Entourage). Help?

I do think it's useless to hope that "Maybe they won't spin the story and dismiss Boxer if we bomb them with e-mails." They WILL spin it. They WILL dismiss Boxer, no matter what we do. And we probably cannot change this situation of BushCon-controlled media until we do a serious divestiture and boycott campaign targeting each network in turn (the worst first). But there is no reason not to tell them what you think--even if they use this information to impress investors with the great public interest in their broadcasts and to sell you things--including this delusion of democracy--that you don't want.

Sigh.

Notice that, despite my despair, I still respond to pleas to try to influence the lapdog media.

I did indeed notice that, despite your despair, you're still going to send an e-mail. I'm depressed about the outcome of all this, too (espcially since Joe Biden keeps letting Lugar know it's okay to hold the confirmation vote tonight -- with Democrats like that, the Republicans hardly need to do anything to keep us down). In any event, I still gonna bombard the media. At least I know I tried.

15. To C-Span:
Edited on Tue Jan-18-05 03:03 PM by Peace Patriot
Dear C-Span:

Thank you for your coverage of important public events, particularly for your coverage of the January 6 Democratic challenge in Congress of the 2004 Ohio Electors, and your current coverage of the Condaleeza Rice Senate hearing.

How can the Republicans promote someone who has made so many lethal mistakes in judgment and policy?

Please help educate Americans about these matters. The news media has ALSO failed us by its lack of investigation into the real reasons for the Iraq War, the real story of 9/11, and the real results of the 2004 election. Please don't fail us! To have a democracy, we MUST have a free press. Your reporting and commentary should make special efforts to investigate the war-mongers, question all public officials vigorously, seek out the truth, and provide strong opposition and alternative comment.

And please keep providing the public with direct broadcast of events so they can judge for themselves, including coverage of the many protests that are planned against Bush’s crowning as Emperor of America and Iraq.

19. One criticism of C-Span.
I tried to call in today after the first round and the number wasn't working for Dems. It was obviously working just fine for Repubs as one after another red state goober called in to say they support "their" president and they thought Condi was doing just fine but the Dems were "too hard on her" and "we" should get over the fact we "lost" the election. What a bunch of boobs. They don't even understand the issues being discussed and no doubt the level of discourse was way over most of their heads. The only intelligent comment was from a Dem who said, essentially, "thank God for Boxer".
