"extraordinary, impressive credentials" and then a softball about nuclear proliferation. Boxer is shooting him a look which translates to,"Oh, God, not another spineless wimp on this side of the aisle."

9. Why judge him 2 weeks into the job? |
|
He is demonstrating his grasp of the issues, and is engaging her on the issues in a substantive manner....this is one way to deal with this hearing..this is one way to position himself in the freshman class, and it is in my opinion a very smart way to establish himself as a smart, articulate senator who also has some bite..just watch..he may not make her cry like boxer but give him time..there's more than one way to deal with this administration...

10. Give him a break. He's a Jr. Senator...he can't come out like Boxer |
|
who's been both a Senator and House Member and has years of seniority. He would lose all credibility if he came out blazing. The Senate is a club...he's the "new kid."
I think hes doing great. Get angry at Biden and Nelson. The guys who have been members of the club forever...:eyes:

I still fervently wish he had voted against Riceroni, though.
He'll come around-- I know it.

Spineless, no spine, needs a spine.
How long has he been in the Senate? A month?

Obama has a history of being "politically cautious" and making "calculations" before every step he takes.
He better cut the crap and acts like the "leader" he wants to portray, since he OBVIOUSLY will run for the Presidency in the future.

19. Some of these responses are classic. |
|
If you see one response you can't generalize about everything else from that single occassion. That's what the repubs do. He stood up against Bush when it counted, just a week ago. We all saw it on CSPAN. Come on folks. If you bail on everyone on our side this easy you'll be in a one man boat real soon. He is among our very best.

22. One action I witnessed |
|
was a speech to local kids, very small audience, talking about engaging personally and reaching for big hopes. I have heard the man speak and words have meaning. The time he took with them meant the world to us.
It is easy to throw kukai from the sidelines. I don't mean to assume too much- maybe you are actively engaged and are not just flinging the crap around from a seated position. What are you doing in your community? Maybe you are doing a lot.
Off to the paper trail legislation meeting- protest tomorrow at the state capitol too, lots to do. See you out there. Right?
