PLS contact Sen Biden to vote NO on Rice |
|
Sen Biden has expressed concern on Rices unwillingness to admit mistakes and listen to opposing views, yet he says he will confirm her. The democrats must stand up to these thugs! Please contact Sen Bidens office to urge him to vote NO on Rice.

1. What's the point of the hearings? |
|
It sounded like the senators had already decided to confirm her before the hearings. So what's the point of even grilling her. She patted herself and Bush on the back for their great work the whole time.

We need to "manage up", that is, lead our leaders to their jobs. In this case, it will be to vote "no" on rice.
Gracious. Even if she's confirmed, we need our damn leaders to do their freaking job!!!
Thanks, modmom!

8. Seems like an unlikely choice |
|
Biden, of all Senators, isn't likely going to be the one to budge (unless he has suddenly taken on a new strategy - which is possible I suppose). There has got to be at least a dozen senators that are more likely to vote no as a result of some email pressure than Biden.
I would focus on these folks (in addition to Boxer): Mark Dayton (Minnesota), Paul Sarbanes (Maryland), Jack Reid (Rhode Island), Jon Corzine (New Jersey), Ted Kennedy (Mass), Tom Harkin (Iowa), Richard Durbin (Illinois), Frank Lautenberg (New Jersey) and Patrick Leahy (Vermont).
Those ten people are much more likely to oppose the Rice nomination, in my opinion, than Biden. Biden is working hard right now on portraying himself as a centrist. I really doubt he will take a stand on this issue.
