Send Joe Biden a Thank you too!! |

He is, right now exposing these people for what they are--ticking off one lie after another. Even mentioned that the neo-cons must be stopped. If you missed Biden it is a MUST SEE/HEAR.

Why have senate confirmation hearings if its a done deal and you're going to give the president what he wants anyway? What's the point. biden is all mouth. He sure knows how to fire off the rhetoric, but consistently fails to act on what he claims to believe.

But he put some serious objections on the record. I was just thrilled to hear someone say some of the things he mentioned about * lying and deceit, on the record. They may be crumbs--but at this point I'll take anything.

told Rice to ask the generals about training progress, "but for God's sake, don't listen to Rumsfeld, he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about."

He must have said that before his closing statement. I would have enjoyed hearing that said out loud, in public, too. As I said I'll take any crumbs they throw my way at this point.

16. He gave his rationale |
|
He said in his 34? years he has only voted against a Pres. choice if the candidate was clearly incompetent or did not have a grasp of the relevant information necessary to fulfill the position. He did contradict himself in that he had already pointed out that she clearly did not appreciate the connection between domestic economics and foreign policy. But apparently decided to over look that contradiction.
I'm not a huge fan of Biden's--but I don't hate him or dislike him.
I HATE Rice as a lying, manipulative PIG. And in my heart AND head, after witnessing her testimony before the 911 comission, I believe that she is complicit in a deliberate coverup of that and other things. She has no moral compass, which does not bode well. What encouraged me specifically, was Biden exposing that so clearly, despite his vote. Nothing more.

11. Did anybody notice that he was wearing... |
|
an orange bracelet-type thingeee.
When he was giving his last speech and saying he is voting for Rice, he almost purposefully show his wrist with the bracelet. It was more of a orange tied on piece of cloth.
I think he is saying - "Dems, I am with you" I just have to vote for this monster.

and didn't get to "watch" the proceedings. Are you sure it was a strip of cloth or one of those rubber bracelet things made popular by Lance Armstrong? Lance's are yellow, but there was an article in our paper just the other day how there are now blue (for Kerry support) and red (for *). Are you sure it wasn't one of those red rubber things? Ohhhh I hope not! Maybe he was just showing her that his bark is worse than his bite and he really supports the repub. That would be a kick in my pants cause I like the guy.
I'll have to see if CSPAN has it to view.

Name, address, phone, date
Dear Senator Biden:
I appreciate you taking Condoleezza Rice to task for her blatant misstatements of the truth regarding our involvement in the Iraq War.
But Senator Biden, I am absolutely baffled as to why you would then turn right around and say you will vote for her confirmation.
What gives? What do I tell my kids? That liars have a free pass to the highest level jobs in the country? That this country is run by a bunch of double-speaking crooks?
Please! Show lots of integrity, even if it is hard. Make us proud! The whole world is watching.
Sincerely,
XXXXXXXXXXXX

21. I understand your point |

These people (Bushco) are IMHO worse than liars and crooks, I think they are essentially evil, and that includes everyone who is complicit in this regime including Colin Powell--ALL EVIL. We are in agreement here, no?
Here's my take on what Biden and a few others did today. They made it clear that no matter how "smart" Rice is, her record to date shows that she is dishonest--a liar of the worst kind who uses half truths to deceive. She is also not intelligent in that she cannot think on her own--she is at best a data processor. What Biden made clear is all of this AND that she is, in spite of this, Bush's closest ally and confident. A liar and a cheat is Bush's FIRST CHOICE. And, in case I'm being too subtle, he made it clear that because of their closeness, Bush knows she's a liar and a cheat and she was his first choice. My hope is that, with this on the record, a trap was set today (along with the other things that were said about Iraq and Iran). To put it crudely--shit spatters.

He didn't vote against her confirmation in the end...He must be worrying about his Presidential bid in 2008. He still doesn't get it. Nope, no support from me. Only those with the guts to put action behind their words from now on.

The WI Democratic Party just called me about 20 minutes ago asking me for a donation to help them fight the bill to change Social Security. I do not want this to go through--I want it to be defeated. Russ Feingold voted to approve Rice today, much to my chagrin. Should I tell them to piss off because my Rep voted for Rice?

There is something very important on Biden speech. He is targeting Bush not Condi. He state in no uncertain terms his thoughts of Bush and he just assign this unpleasant task to Condi by voting for her.
I think he got it right, he went for the root of the problem and I dont think he will be forgiven by them for this action.

I saw some of the things Biden said today as very important in undermining Bush--especially his claim that he lacks culpability or responsibility for any of his crimes. For everyone to vote against Rice would have looked like a tantrum--to no avail. But I think damage was done today. Time will tell how much.

Many of you don't watch MSM news, so thought I'd pass this along.... CBS and NBC included a clip of Biden telling Condi not to talk to Rumsfield, because he doesn't know what the hell is going on. When they went back to the CBS correspondent, he was trying to keep a grin off his face, but his eyes were telling the story.
