My out-of-office message for January 20, 2005
I have placed the following message on my office e-mail and voicemail regarding my unscheduled absence tomorrow:

On Thursday, 20 January 2005, I will be out of the office for a national day of protest against the swearing in of a US president following an unverified election. This is a nonpartisan statement of solidarity with those who believe that every American has the right for his or her vote to be counted.

I will be back in the office on Friday, 21 January, as scheduled.

Thank you,
Betty V. Blue

4. Thanks! :)
It's already gone out once, to one of our systems guys in New Jersey; he sent an all-department system status update right after I set my out-of-office mode. I hadn't even thought about all the mail that comes to me that's not specifically addressed to me. Hee.

2. I would be so-o-o fired
They'd have a couple of big burly security dudes escort me out the door if I dared to leave a political out-of-office message.

6. Yeah, this isn't exactly a huge act of bravery
As my boss and coworkers are very liberal, but I'm sure I'm technically violating some rule, so I suppose I could get dinged for this.

:scared:
