This CNN line is just outrageous!
Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 09:55 PM by RaulVB
"The new report shows that exit polls overstated Kerry's support in 26 states, while estimates overstated Bush's support in four states. The problem is not new -- in every presidential election since 1988, exit polls have overstated support for Democrats nationally -- but the discrepancy in 2004 was more pronounced than in previous years."

- AND THAT AFTER THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE "FIXED" THE METHODOLOGY TO "AVOID" THIS TYPE OF "PROBLEMS"!

HOW IN THE HELL IS THE DNC NOT PURSUING LEGAL ACTIONS AGAINST THESE CRIMINALS???

They REALLY DON'T HAVE statisticians and decent pollsters to EXPLAIN THEM what happened on November 2nd???

More "jewelry" for you:

"-Distance restrictions from polling places imposed upon the interviewers by election officials at the state and local level.

- Weather conditions, which lowered completion rates at certain polling locations.

- Multiple precincts voting at the same location as the precinct in the exit poll sample.

- Interviewer characteristics, such as age, which were more often related to the errors last year than in past elections."

ALL THOSE PROBLEMS "UNDERSTATE" "*" VOTERS BUT DON'T AFFECT KERRY'S VOTERS.

This type of "rationale" CANNOT, SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTED BY ANYBODY WITH A FUNCTIONING BRAIN.

IS AN INSULT!

2. Let me get this straight - "Democrat" and "liberal" are bad words
but according to CNN, people LIE and say that they voted Democratic even when they didn't? Why would people do that?

I guess it doesn't occur to CNN that maybe the exit polls are correct and it's the machine tallies that are wrong? Nah. After all, hating and dismissing science and logic are Republican values.

4. That's exactly right! Also, * has so much support that
no one admitted that they voted for him.

Yes. It all makes sense to me now.

6. That's WHAT I WANT TO KNOW!
If this is "true" the opposition Party should take them to court so CNN CAN "EXPLAIN" their "numbers" to the affected side.

7. I think they're suggesting that Bush voters
Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 10:09 PM by Beth in VT
disproportionately declined to participate, not that they lied and said they voted for Kerry.

8. Which would "suggest" to any "normal individual" this:
"You can't number those who ARE NOT THERE..."

KERRY'S VOTERS WERE THERE BECAUSE THEY WERE THE MAJORITY.

9. Well, then, why do Bush voters decline?
How can this be fixed, and why is it so consistent? How come Bush voters don't want to talk about the fact that the voted for him? Are they ashamed? Are they afraid of being found out? Why?
