KEYBOARD WARRIORS: Go get some eggs or signs or signatures or something
This peoples revolution to take our country back from the corporate duopoly must be fought not just tomorrow but every single day until we truly do have a democracy. So back away from the keyboards long enough to do something tangible in this effort. Not to say keyboarding for democracy isn't neccesary or effective to some degree. I believe it is. But I also know that other 0's and 1's were conveniently manipulated and not counted properly on Nov. 2.

My call is to enlist a committment from those who are ahead of the curve in realizing the dire straits our country is in vis-a vis the corporate duopoly's corrupt control of America to make a public and tangible plan to take our freedom back.

Get involved with any and all progressive organizations in your area.

Get involved with your local board of elections and insist on nothing more and nothing less than paper ballots and hand counts, NOW!

Stand on a busy intersection with a hand made sign with whatever message you desire. I like: Paper ballots NOW! Hand counts NOW!

Start a petition drive in your community requiring paper ballots and hand counts. Spread the word and network with others of like mind. Present signatures to your local BOE and representatives.

Freeway blog. Buy some spray paint and have some fun.

Keep on keyboarding too but don't let it be the only thing you do take our country back.

P.S. Don't buy any of those items tomorrow because it is "NOT ONE DAMN DIME DAY"

Peace!

3. Thanks Raul. I appreciate the kick and I want to tell you that I read
about your experience living under Pinochet in the thread you started earlier. I am glad you surived that fascist despot. You of all people have I'm sure a real understanding as to why we need to take actions now.

Your ideas are right.

Actions are very important.

You understand the importance of this too!

4. There was a line at the grocery store tonight
at 10:00. We went well after the local (Kanas-Nebraska) basketball game and found the last carton of 2% organic milk and the last bag of blueberry bagels. As we walked through the store we noticed there were a number of empty shelves, mostly items like milk, bread, eggs and pasta. It was a little weird but it felt good. We ran into a couple of friends who were also standing in line. They were out shopping for the same reasons we were: "NOT ONE DAMN DIME."

I ran out at 11:45 and to gas up the car a bit. The only plans we have tomorrow (because we're lucky enough to be able to clear our calendars) are two anti-inaugural events.

As for the rest of your message. Right on! We're involved with several groups locally and, the good news, the groups are working together and getting the word out. We're all in this together. The only way we can win is to fight together.

wait for the day when we are able to tell our kids that they live in a democracy. I am contemplating organizing a "tea party" event in which we symbolically dump evoting machines. Perhaps it would make a good fundraiser to do when the weather gets better. Publicize it as much as possible and have a sledge hammer and protective goggles on hand and charge a $1.00 a whack. Get petitions sigs signed at the same time. Just a thought. Maybe it is something we could all do in our respective communities on Patriots Day in April.

edit for typo

13. and I'm in a red state (Kansas)
although in predominantly blue county (Douglas). I'm heading out the door to campus. The university students are holding their demonstration in twenty minutes and many of us in the community are going to support them. I'll be a few minutes late because my printer is so slow. Printing out some flyers listing dates/times of local progressive/Democratic meetings, contact information and websites to hand out as well as sign-up sheets for our local organizing group's e-mail list.

Hang in there. We're fighting as hard as we can.

15. Vandalism by graffiti is a crime...
...assuming you're serious, I hope you are caught and prosecuted. This is just the kind of horseshit that gives the Reich-wingers a throbbing hard-on: a so-called "liberal" bragging on DU that they're about to commit a crime.

Karl, is that you?
