Many Votes Still to be Counted in California
Turns out that as of Friday there were 1.4 million votes still to be counted out here in California. 207,000 of them in heavily democratic Santa Clara county alone.

It's not enough to turn the national popular vote decisively in Kerry's favor, but every little bit helps.

I'd like to see this creep up closer to a popular vote tie. Then if and when the stories of fraud/irregularities finally take hold, Kerry will have greater standing in the popular imagination and the press to actually contest this thing. One thing that did work for Al Gore last time is that he was the undisputed winner of the popular vote. That gave him a certain standing, I think, to fight until the end in Florida.

1. the problem is...
The media has been trumpeting the 3.5 million 'win' nonstop since Wednesday, and it's probably been burned into the little pea-brains of our fellow countrymen by now.

And any updated numbers will no doubt be buried somewhere near the classifieds section of your local paper.

4. You think these people read the newspaper?
no, they absorb these lies from talk radio and cable news.

2. I like your thinking & I'm hoping for not only a popular vote tie,
but that Kerry's popular vote surpasses the coWard-&-thief's.

I will never accept that the surge of first-time & fair weather voters went to the polls to vote for the most inept incumbent president in American history.

5. Hope You're Right
I've been searching the web a bit to try and figure out how many votes are still outstanding and where they are. Haven't made much progress yet.

It would sure be nice if they were enough votes out there to turn the PV tide for Kerry.
