17. 50,000 sigs?! how about 25,000 googled page hits to impeach bu$h!

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=petition+impeach+bush

if you shorten the string search "impeach bush" and force stringency by quotes --> 138,000

http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&lr=&q=%22impeach+bush%22

i used to use my googlometer to monitor the progress of news stories in similar fashion, for example, to see how long it took the "bush is wired" story to move from web-only tinfoil-zone into google's corpwhore news section.

4. Well, I checked out the petition, and:
1) It doesn't seem to verify email addresses before adding your name to the list.

2) It lets you specify either 1 or 2 signers per email address. I suppose that's because docile freeper-chicks always vote how their husband says she should vote.

So, now Santorum Shitstain has signed the petition, too. Shitstain@spreadingsantorum.com

8. They want to excommunicate him too - a@#holes!
http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=41912
WHAT: News Conference

WHEN: Monday, Jan. 24 from 9 to 10 a.m.

WHERE: National Press Club (Lisagor Room), 529 14th Street NW, Washington D.C.

Marc Balestrieri, JCL is the canon lawyer and director of the non-profit organization DE FIDE based in Los Angeles. In an unprecedented class-action ecclesiastical lawsuit filed last summer, he filed a Dual-Denunciation for Heresy and Complaint for Reparation of Harm against Senator John F. Kerry for his support of the civil right to choose abortion. Under Roman Catholic Church law, support of abortion rights constitutes the "Right-to- Murder" Heresy condemned by Pope John Paul II in the Encyclical Evangelium Vitae of 1995. Automatic Excommunication is the penalty incurred for this offense.

Within 11 days of submitting a query with the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome, Balestrieri received a personal reply confirming the doctrinal merits of the case written by an expert theologian at the request of a Vatican official.

On Monday DE FIDE will 1) update the Press on the ongoing efforts to stop Kerry's continuing propagation of the Right-to- Murder Heresy, Sacrilege, and Scandal; 2) detail the new denunciations for Heresy, Sacrilege, and Scandal to be filed against Senators Edward Kennedy, Tom Harkin, Susan Collins, and former New York Governor Mario Cuomo; 3) release to the Press for the first time ever the first set of pending canonical briefs and documents pertaining to the Heresy cases; and 4) additionally release canonical forms inviting Christians and non-Christians alike to join in the class-action ecclesiastical lawsuit against all of the above-named parties.

Balestrieri will be available to answer questions. He will explain in layman's terms the complexities of the unprecedented and extremely rare Heresy cases in Canon law. Finally, he will offer journalists the opportunity for one-on-one interviews. (1)

(1) Breakfast will be served. Journalists on deadline can schedule private interviews with Balestrieri for the period following his formal presentation and Q&A.

16. These petition sites are kinda useless, IMHO
Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 10:34 AM by meganmonkey
There was one several weeks ago that wanted to reinstate the HUAC (House Un-American Activities Committee - think Joseph McCarthy/Red Scare) and a DUer discovered it and within a week, the majority of signatures were by people with names like Joseph Stalin, Bugs Bunny, Devil Incarnate (that was me ;) ) etc. etc. Comments were things like "Kill the commies" and such. It was kind of fun, and proved that these online petition sites don't really work. The people who create the petition probably have no ability to verify the validity of the signatures, or to monitor who is signing them. I doubt they are considered very credible.

On edit: I am NOT referring to sites like Impeach Bush, or politicians who have petitions on their sites. Those sites require more info and are likely verified. I am just talking about the ones where random people can create whatever petition they want.

18. Yeah.... BUT
The RWers use the petitions as part of their "Noise Machine".

Since they own the MSM they issue them and treat them as
fact. (no one ever checks)

Just watch... This crap will be blasting over the airwaves
at the expense of The Tsunami victims... The actual protest turnout
at the regurgitation day ceremonies... The election fraud...
The challenge to Riceowhitz and Heinrich Gonzales.

30. This is assinine
This "petition" of theirs against Kerry is gonna go nowhere. If there was anything remotely prosecutable about Kerry, Nixon and his spooks would have found it back in the 70's. They found nothing. The FBI followed and investigated him, and they found nothing. This is pure BS, and poorly done BS at that.

35. This is complete Bullshit
I would never sign anything against a man that fought for our rights in this last election when our very freedom was endangered by a shallow war monger name George Bush.

Like Kerry or not if you sign this petiton you just signed over your rights as a Democrat. he fought for us now the Bushies are fighting against him. this is the msot ridiculous news I had ever heard and before Kerry will ever be charged with anything, Bush will be get his indictment for the election fraud of 2004 and the killing of inncoent lives.

Ah this pisses me off moderator please remove this has nothing to do w/ election 2004 even though I know the poster does not in anyway support the petition. lets email the webmaster to tell them what we think....

36. I was unaware Congress had declared "war"
As we all know, the commander-in-chief can only summon the military to act in our defense (he or she does not have to wait for Congress to assemble to summon the military to defend the Country in case of an attack). Only Congess can declare a war for circumstances other than responding to an attack. So where is that declaration?

They're trying to indict him for what he did over 30 years ago? In no way was it treason. Yes, he protested the war, but there's nothing illegal about that. They're just afraid of having him in the Senate and are trying to trump charges to get him removed. This better go nowhere!
