Does anybody know if it's illegal to organize a boycott of a radio station |

2. Why would that be illegal? If you don't like a "product" you should... |
|

certainly be able to make an effort to seek out and find "like minded" peeps and all together avoid "purchasing" that product.
Furthermore, a radio station is entertainment, and it is a long-standing tradition that entertainment can be "reviewed" for the purpose of criticism and advising others whether or not the entertainment is worth their time.

Roger Hedgehog say something stupid yet again?
I avoid that side like the plague. Last time I listened, I felt the need to scrub myself clean with bleach and a brilo pad.
Were you at the Downtown rally last night?

8. Ed Shultz was talking about that last week...I think he said |
|
He can not BAN a product...but Boycott is still legit. Mentioining the Org and their intent takes the broadcaster off the hook.

11. Because of the way radio ratings are done |
|
it is easier to mount an effective boycott against the advertisers.

17. Check out Media Matters. They're doing a boycott... |
|
...of Sinclair Broadcasting. Hitting the sponsors and investors. I don't see how excercising your free speech and sending sponsors a letter saying what you feel about the radio show they're paying for commercials on can be illegal.
Also, see Global Exchange. They do boycotts of big corps.
Not to say you can't get sued. You can always get sued, for anything. But will it have merit? Corps DO try to shut people up with such suits. CA has anti-SLAPP protection. You can get it dismissed fast, and I think get costs from them as well, if it's just harassment--effort to shut you up. Don't know which other states have it.
