Popular San Diego DJ totally berates DU - Calls us fascist pigs!

The DJ asks his control booth to queue up: theme from "Dragnet" -
he then reads MY email to his station manager. He reads
my full name over the air. Then replies, "ooooh... I'm so scared.
Hey John? BITE ME! Guess what John? I'm still on the air!"
He then laughs and says, "everybody is laughing at
the emails from DemoCRATIC Underground... a bunch of
fascist PIGS" (not an exact quote, just my memory).
He then reads several other emails from DUers, belittling
each one.

Then he dismisses us with, "Oh, today it's my station
tomorrow it will be another station." I still
shudder at the realization of how ugly this DJ can
get. He puts Rush to shame. Made me want to vomit.

The DJ spent the entire morning commute radio time
demanding a recall of Boxer and belittling DU and
MoveOn.org. The station said it received over 200
emails. They must have taken it seriously because
the went to the trouble of investigating what cities
the emails came from. The DJ joked about the fact
that most of the emails were not even from California.

The fact that this DJ is calling for a state-wide recall
of Boxer must have caught her attention. Senator Boxer
was on KLSD (Air America) speaking with local wonderful
pro-liberal jock Stacey Taylor about the recall. The two
stations were both talking about her at the same
time -- one pro -- one con. Couldn't listen to both.

So, at least we pissed him off. I'm so aggravated though.
It's so unfair that he has such a huge audience to vent
his spleen. I hope everybody here signed up and offered
support to re-institute the Fairness doctrine.

Most of their targets are alive and well, and thriving. Bill Clinton's popularity actually improved when they were doing their worst. Nobody believed them (except the few dittoheads who always call in).

Hillary's still around, still married to Bill, and has a highly successful political career. They were so foul to her--it was unbelievable.

So we should consider ourselves complimented!

I think they're running scared. They have a certain low-minded entertainment value for a few--for people who are full of venom themselves or who don't think too much. But there is a lot of jealousy and rancor in their attacks, which most people easily perceive, and don't like. And they are very one-note. They get very tiresome--like 12 year old boys can get.

I think their time in the entertainment business is coming to a close. Things have gotten much too serious, with the dead and wounded in Iraq and the multiple tours affecting so many people at home, the economy on a thin knife edge, the threats to Social Security, the saber-rattling at Iran, the entire world looking very worriedly our way.

I don't think people will put up with their scabrous line much longer. I think they and their bosses have been hearing about it. I think people are really feeling the need for deeper and more realistic and more truthful commentary.

I DO believe in fighting back, though. I think we should flood them with letters!

By the way, the dictionary definition of fascism is something like this: Those who believe that government and corporations should join together to control society. (...something like that...not exact...)

I think they mean "totalitarian" or maybe "Stalinist." Fascist is way off the mark, if they mean something like domineering Leftists.

The charge (fascist) is so weird--given DU's openness--you gotta wonder. These guys are coming from the lower instincts and so, everything they accuse others of is very likely just projection. It's them they are talking about.

So Ricky boy thinks Boxer has no right to demand accountability from our president's administration? You know, it's fascist little assholes like Roberts that have brought this country to the shamefully misinformed state that it is now. God forbid a senator has the guts to object to myopic incompetence when it comes to national security. Boxer's not a fucking sheep, and I applaud her for it.

Millions of americans are wanting the same answers from Condi Rice concerning her and the administrations constantly fluxing arguments for Iraq war - reasons that keep changing to keep from having to admit they've made a mess of it. And Condi's mismanagement as National Security Advisor has cost this country dearly and if she can't answer for that she has no place being promoted to Secretary of State.

Who is Roberts to demand a recall, as if dissent is somehow unamerican? I'm glad that Boxer thinks that American lives are more than mere cannon fodder for Bush's misleadership.

It seemed to me that in the "old" days, people could argue

I was watching the chairman of the foreign relations committee. He is
a Republican... but in my opinion, a true gentleman. I am a dyed in the
wool Democrat, but I believe I could call that man "friend" even if
I disagreed with him.

who have dignity and statesman-like quality and demeanor.

117. The first time Chimpy and his friends noticed they hadn't convinced all

the sheep that their plan was good for America. I did notice this a little in the past, but it has really become the "norm" with conservative radio hosts at this point. It is disgusting, but I think it may work in our favor. I think people will get disgusted very quickly with that type of behavior. I have started adding a line to all my letters revoking the right to publicize, print, or otherwise use my name, address, email, etc. because of this obnoxious behavior. These people ARE going to get sued the first time they cause someone to start stalking, or retaliating against a specific person because of them reading names and calling people liars and idiots on the air. I always end my letters to them with... If you use my name for any purpose I will take legal action against you, your station, and any other entity involved. The law is on my side. I don't know if this will help, but it does make them stop and think.
