Kerry did not fight back hard enough on SBT ads or "flip-flop" label.... |
|
Maybe he was a "flip-flopper" but no one flopped as much as George W Bush. Just think of how many times he changed the story for why we invaded Iraq?? But those were character attacks, which can be devastating in a political campaign, and must be responded to quickly and hard. That was the beginning of the end for our candidate and they do it every damn time.....and they will do it the next time. Write it down.

1. Bullies become emboldened when you don't fight back.... |
|
Most of us learned this the hard way in grade school, despite our parent's best efforts to convince us to "turn the other cheek" and to "just walk away....."
Sadly, bullies don't change when they get older and the truism holds:
Bullies become emboldened when you don't fight back....

You don't know how many people I had to tell that Bush flip flopped more than anyone.

Democrats from New England don't get elected. Is it unfair? Probably. But it is a fact.

7. Have you ever heard ... |
|
of a guy named John Fitzgerald Kennedy? And there are more, besides him. In fact, quite a few Democratic Presidents have come from New England.
There was nothing wrong with Kerry. We could have nominated Thomas Jefferson and we still would have lost. The Republicans control the media, and they (probably) rigged the vote.
Plain and simple.

3. The Repugs know how to win from a minority position on issues. |
|
The Democrats know how to lose from a majority position.
We seem to never learn not only how to respond quickly and decisively to negative attacks, but also how to make attacks that stick to the opponent. Kerry was just the latest example. I was hoping we had learned. But no.
The Repugs have been using the same election playbook for over 20 years. Of course they will do it next time. It works with the sheeple.

the damned DLC. This is the major weak link in the Party. We need a leadership that will FIGHT BACK and even TAKE THE FIGHT TO THEM and not try to be Republican-Lites. If this weak-kneed, compromising attitude on the part of the Democrat leaders continues, I will leave the party and register as an Independent. I will not donate another penny to the Party as long as McAuliffe is Chairman of the DNC!

5. I agree. I BEGGED the Kerry campaign on DU |
|
and through other means to have Kerry read his testimony from 1971 which was very powerful and would have put the swift liars to shame. I think the part of the swift liars that did the most harm was not about the medals or Kerry's bravery but the lies about his post war activities but that part of Kerry's history in my mind was the most exemplary. And in the process he could have drawn parallels to Iraq.
I also think Kerry should have read the speech he gave to the Senate before the IWR vote and compare with what Bush said before the war, at the UN and in his casus belli. As you said, anyone could see who was the flip-flopper.

Kerry did the right thing when he brought reports of atrocities to the attention of the public. Kerry said he stood by his testimony but never said why he did.

6. or the stolen election....That is the worst one. |
|
Because he did win in spite of the other one - and no, I didn't believe a word he said on the war. But I voted for him - or rather against Bush - and so did THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS

9. Prove it and then we'll talk.... |

But don't say it as a fact unless it can be proven.

12. No. They haven't "got" me.... |
|
You can holler and scream for four more years that you were "cheated" and robbed and it's not going to change one damn thing. Perhaps they stole 4 million votes - I doubt it - but if they did, someone will come up with the proof. Without the proof, it is nothing. Belief, without proof, is like the religious nuts. You are operating on faith alone.
