Anybody wanna help Boxer by e-mailing Blitzer??

I put a post like this on two other DU forums, but I thought I'd put it in the 2004 election forum, too -- I'm guessing there are probably tons of Barbara Boxer fans here....

As you probably know, Sen. Boxer was on Wolf Blitzer's show earlier. I think it would be helpful if people e-mailed Blitzer and expressed support for her.

The idea is to let Blitzer and CNN know that there are thousands of us "average Americans" out here who want Boxer's reasoned, articulate views to be heard. The idea is to apply POSITIVE pressure to get them to present a less slanted view of Boxer and her efforts. Therefore, I think it's best to sound polite and appreciative (as much as this may gall those of you who get mad at Blitzer for his inane questions and generally biased reporting). For example:

1) Thank Blitzer for having Boxer on the show
2) Tell him you agree with Boxer, that you think what she is saying and doing is important, or something along those lines.
3) Tell him you wish that he and CNN would give more coverage to Boxer.

No more than 5 or 6 sentences should do the trick, so no need to spend a lot of time doing this.

You don't need to have seen the show. A general message of support is all that's needed. CNN will post the transcript, but don't know how long this takes. Here's the link:

Finally, you are showing a true opposition party to Bush. Barbara Boxer was a great guest and the dialog with Lugar was quite intelligent. More Boxer and more opposition. Stay with this and your audience will return. This is the first time I've watched in months and it's because I want to see two sides of a debate. Thanks.

I'd like to thank Mr Blitzer for having Senator Boxer on his show. Senator Boxer is one of the most knowledgeable in Washington DC currently speaking for the growing number of Americans on both sides of the aisle that wish to see election reform occur now! I would like to also ask that Mr. Blitzer consider inviting Chuck Herrin a life-long Republican computer wiz that is currently speaking out loud and clear about why the need to get rid of e-voting is so important. Perhaps representative John Conyers would also be an effective guest since he has written a 102 page report on election irregularities in the 2004 election.

Unfortunately I missed seeing Senator Boxer today and I have only read the transcript. Will this segment be on again? She is one of the few who dare to ask the tough questions.

I hardly ever watch the main news channels as they repeat the same stories and rarely give an opposing view. Many people are looking to foreign broadcasts and the net to have a more balanced view of the issues. I can still remember when other countries looked to our news for the truth and a thorough examination of the issues.

Hopefully you will have others on your programs that speak their minds and offer a counter point to the news of the day.

Re: Senator Boxer,
As a constituent I am proud of Senator Boxer to have the courage, knowing that ultimately the current environment would not allow her questions and points to sway the outcome, but will leave a historical record of what many of her constituents and citizens beyond her constituency expect their Senators to convey into the record.
