The Dream Team for 2008 - Let me wake up to this REALITY!!!!!
Don't want this to get buried (original idea by the brilliant Catamount, with one small change for Conyers as Speaker of the House).
I am going to visual this combo everyday, while singing "a dream is wish your heart makes"

John Kerry/Barbara Boxer 2008
John Edwards - Attorney General
John Conyers - SPEAKER of the House
Secretary of State – Hillary Clinton

6. Highly disagree
My list:
Feingold/Richardson 2008
Attorney General: John Conyers
Secretary of State: Richard Holbrooke
Secretary of Defense: Wes Clark

Edwards and Hillary are wastes of spaces. Kerry had his shot, didn't happen. Like the guy, but his time has passed.

14. Yes, Clark would be a great Sec of State.
John Kerry/ Barbara Boxer - Pres/VP
Wes Clark - Sec. of State
Anthony Zinni ? - Sec. of Defense (or NSA)
John Edwards or Eliot Spitzer - AG
RFK Jr. - Sec. of Interior/ head of EPA
Dick Gephardt - Sec. of Labor
Howard Dean - Sec. of HHS (unless he's DNC chair)
Sec. of Homeland Security - I don't know, I would've said John O'Neill (the counterterroism agent, NOT the SBVT swine), but RIP

30. I like this lineup also
Don't think this country is ready to elect a woman president right after B* and with the current militaristic slant of the country. If we could just get Barbara in as VP that would be good.

Gore in Interior or EPA, good. Hillary is probably most effective in the Senate. Obama still needs more time, but his time will come.

Kerry's actions in the next months will tell if he could run again. But it seems he still has a lot of supporters so it's not out of the question by any means.

This is assuming we have the emergency repairs done to the election system by then.

24. problems with your choices
Edited on Sun Jan-23-05 05:46 PM by imenja
Speaker of the House is chosen by members of the House themselves. Pelosi is now the leader. Seniority is a big party of the story. How long has Conyers been in office? I'd leave it for House members to choose their leader. There is more than political ideology to consider. Personal effectiveness is also important, and we have no insight into that. I appreciate Conyers activities on the 2004 election, but he strikes me a surly man. That was my impression based on his treatment of witnesses during the hearings he presided over. That makes me think he might not be the best Speaker.

Hillary is not the right choice for Secretary of State. Someone with more foreign policy experience would be better. Richard Holbrook or Joe Biden (let's put aside his placating of Gonzalez right now) know far more about policy.

I don't want Kerry on the ticket. Why should Boxer take second place to him? A Boxer-Ford ticket would be better, or Boxer-Richardson. We need some geographical balance on the ticket. Or a Boxer-Conyers ticket. California and the NE are roughly the same geographically because of their political leanings. Of the three I prefer Boxer-Ford. It offers ideological as well as cultural and geographical balance. Boxer-Obama would be worth considering as well.

Spitzer would be great as AG, only I want him for president some day. Remaining governor of NY for a couple of terms would probably help him more in that regard. Attorney General is a lightening rod for criticism.

48. I don't agree. Diebold and W are both going to be replaced BEFORE
this Term is up...due to Election Fraud litigation. I don't know how, I just know that Bush/Cheney are going to be RICO'd out; and Kerry will be in long before '08. In which case, '08 will be Kerry's Second Term. Jeb is going nowhere, but to other Tornado sights to hand out "turkeys!"
