Richard Hayes Phillips 1 hour radio interview Monday 1/24
Richard Hayes Phillips, Ph.D., statistician who's been researching and documenting election fraud and other anomalies on a precinct-by-precinct basis will be interviewed tomorrow, Monday, January 23 on Radio Inside Scoop.

Time: 3pm EST
streaming online at: http://www.radioinsidescoop.com
From the site:

The Last(?) Word on the Ohio Recount of Presidential Votes
Guest: Statistician Richard Hayes Phillips, Ph.D., whose expert documentation and analysis of the Ohio presidential election returns was the basis for the lawsuit challenging the results, a lawsuit that the courts of Ohio have, to this day, never examined on the merits...

Mark's comment: "Before anyone 'moves on' to contemplate the next four years, we still need a definitive understanding of what happened in Ohio."

"I have spoken with Professor Phillips and I think he will surprise every single person who listens with an open mind, from fierce Bush partisans certain Bush won to fierce Kerry partisans certain that Kerry won. I believe Dr. Phillips' knowledge and grasp of the facts and details of the 2004 presidential election in Ohio is unmatched by anyone, anywhere. You are guaranteed to learn something on today's broadcast."
--
Note that "today's broadcast" is really tomorrow.

Richard tells me that Mark Levine, the attorney who will be interviewing him, is best known for his legal analysis of the U.S. Supreme Court decision awarding Bush the 2000 election. He asks very educated questions.

Please keep this kicked until airtime!

13. He made an inspiring statement that fraud IS proveable
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 03:30 PM by meganmonkey
particularly in relation to voter registration issues, but also ballots (some counties new registrations were impossibly increased) because the paper exists - it's just a matter of getting the records and comparing things...

Mostly he his talking about things that he has already reported on - i.e. undervotes for president, 99% turnouts in some precincts...

edit: i am at work so I am only half listening...on the phone and (gasp) working while I listen...

14. Mine is choppy too.
Now Phillips is talking about Mahoning County Ohio -- says it was the No. 1 county discussed by Conyers in Congress. Says the DRE would vote hop -- "the default choice was supposed to be unseen". There were no undervotes -- every person who attempted to vote in that (?) precinct "cast" a vote.

15. Triad.
Says they manufacture most of the punch card machines, and service and program, and also provide the election results.
Says they count more than half the counties.

In two cases, the counties instead of faxing or mailing an electronic vote file,

--interrupted by host

Triad even provides the websites for these elections.

~~~~~~~~~~
My comment -- Triad does not provide the punch card machines, according to Triad -- they provide the tabulation software. For 41 of the 88 counties in Ohio.
PHILLIPS: It turns out there there is now a statement from 3 observers in Clermont County -opscan -- these people swear and have filed a complaint, there were little white stickers on the Kerry marks when they ran them through the machine during the recount.
HOST: Optical scan - like SAT test - fill in the ovals. The computer that counts sees the black mark. If you were to put a white sticker, it would be like an empty ballot. Then there is a Bush mark added?
PHILLIPS: Recount - would there be different graphite in the Bush marks than in the marks for the others?
HOST: Have they offered to give you the actual optical scan sheets for evidence?
PHILLIPS: Not sure who has the standing to get these. Kerry/Edwards? Maybe John Conyers would have the standing to obtain the evidence. But it's not easy to get this stuff.
HOST: As someone who worked in Congress -- unfortunately controlled -- Conyers does not have subpoena power. Only the majority do.
currently in commercial break.
Two emails by listeners attacking John Kerry's campaign. Living wage oppty for the disadvantaged. Kerry strong-armed the process.
HOST: Our blogger from Finland may be right -- if we can't trust the voting machines, we may not have a democracy, maybe for the next ten years.
HOST: Now, as for those extremely high turnouts in Ohio - reminds me of the "explanation' of why the exit polls were off in Ohio. People, by the way, have never been able to explain why the exit polls were off in Ohio.
Skip says some say enthusastic dems voted early, and that would explain the difference.
What Skip is saying is that if you look at exit polls in places that weren't battleground states - they match.
PHILLIPS: Voter Suppression - one way to affect turnout. One way done in Ohio, purging of the voter rolls. For instance, in Lucas County (Toledo) 27,000 voters were removed from the rolls. Some of these were legit voters -- they had not died or moved away. We need to look at to see if Dems were targeted - I don't have any evidence to show that they were. The evidence to look should be available.
One reason provisional votes weren't counted - because people were removed from the voting rolls. Or, because they were in the right building but at the wrong precinct (table inside the building). SO, what's the point of provisional balloting?
HOST: Can a person find out if their provisional ballot counted?
PHILLIPS: Yes. This is obtainable.
PHILLIPS : Other things -- polling stations literally running out of ballots. Long lines not designated by precinct - wait in long line, then be told you're in wrong line, get in a different long line.
In Columbus, there was an alteration compared to previous elections of allocation of voting machines. Black areas received fewer machines than wealthy white suburbs. AND, the list was altered -- There are 76 voting machines crossed out on a list -- on an already discriminatory list -- that were not delivered. All 76 of these machines were slated for pcts in Columbus.
I didn't get much of the rest, but Phillips states that he voted for the Republican for Governor, the Republican for another high office (maybe he said Senate), and that he has no particular love for the Democrats. He says that this is NOT about Kerry and Bush, but about having the winner win and the loser lose, and the people rule.
16. Some precincts in the county couldn't find out the results
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 03:39 PM by meganmonkey
until the machine techs TOLD them the results :eyes:
Talking about the Triad techs coming in after the election and changing the machines before the recount, signed affidavits to that effect from poll workers - and this happened in the same counties that had statistically unlikely results for president (compared to last election etc.)
Re: claremont county punchcard/optical sdcan: He says very well "Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't, but we need to investigate it so we can know" - makes perfect sense to me! He is talking about Claremont County in particular. He says it is hard to get the evidence - they need someone 'with standing' to get the evidence.
Conyers doesn't have 'subpeona power' - needs Repuke support to be able to demand evidence like this....
20. Mentions Mitofsky - irony that HIS polls in Ukraine led to a revolution
and here are disbelieved as important...
Wants to focus on disenfranchisement - he will deal w/ exit polls another time. Purging of voter rolls,
Uncounted provisionals - was this purposeful fraud? Or mistakes in a nonpartisan effort? Why was it all in dem areas?!?!?!
POints out that provisionals are useless b/c if you are at the wrong table, they'll give you a provisional ballot rather than tell you where you SHOULD be, but they won't count your ballot because you are in the wrong place!!!
Mentions allocation of voting machines. It was discriminatory in Columbus. The inner cities received fewer machines per voter than the 'burbs. The original list of machines and where they go (including the serial number!) was changed and machines were crossed out and moved to other districts. They were ALL moved from Kerry areas to Bush areas...
22. I wish I had the exact quote:
It isn't about the Dems or the Repugs, it's about making sure the winners win. the losers lose, and the cheaters ROT IN PRISON (okay, I totally made up what happens to the cheaters. I don't remember what he said ;) )
