Dean wins straw poll in Texas
I know this doesn't belong here. Can I have one last freebee?

DEAN WINS BIG IN GRASSROOTS POLLS

When we asked for your input on your preference for DNC chair, we can’t say we were really surprised that most of you favored Howard Dean—90% of those responding, in fact. Most people in this organization were Dean supporters during the campaign, and a good many of you were inspired by Governor Dean to get involved in politics for the first time.

What was less certain was the outcome of the poll we took of all those eligible to attend last year’s state convention in June, but we felt it was important to ask the question. After all, that’s what grassroots politics is all about. The results are as follows:

Howard Dean: 69%
Martin Frost: 25%
Others: 6%

To view the letter that was delivered to Texas DNC members today, go to www.democracyfortexas.org/dncletter.

Many of you have asked what you can do to help Governor Dean in this race. If you know a DNC member, contact them and respectfully let them know how you feel. If you don’t know a DNC member personally, the best thing you can do is write a letter to the editor. Information to assist you in doing that effectively is available at www.democracyforamerica.com/letterstoeditor.

For those of you who supported other candidates, please know that we respect your opinion and consider you a valuable part of this organization. The job of taking our country back requires all of us.

Thanks to everyone who participated—even those two law firms in Dallas who passed the email around on a Friday afternoon. Only a few of them were actually eligible to vote, but we admired their enthusiasm for their candidate.

Your DFT steering committee—
Marla Camp, Glen Maxey, Teri Sperry, and Fran Vincent

2. see this for contact info for your state's delegates to ask them to vote

Also see this thread for a lot more info:

COnyers endorsed DEan because he (Conyers) says election reform is the foremost issue facing the dems and Dean is committed to election reform.

So in this sense, it is related to election reform.
