Toll-free capitol line disconnected (800-839-5276)?
This was posted in GD - I just called the number and it has been disconnected.

Time to put the corporate media whores on this story? Why was it toll free yesterday and disconnected today???

I just called 800-839-5276 (US Capitol switchboard). It worked yesterday but today a recording says "the number you have called has been disconnected....."

Anyone else?

1. Because we used that line before the 1/6/05 ......
........ Ohio vote certification contest. It means "we" are getting to them.
We can still call, e mail, and fax.

Long Live the Boxer Rebellion

2. Yes, we are getting to them.
KO & others need to have fun with this, showing how they can't handle the calls from concerned citizens about ELECTION FRAUD, LIAR C. RICE AND TORTURER GONZALES!!!!!!!!!!!

3. I posted this in the thread over on GD
but I think it bears repeating...

I just called 1-800-FED-INFO and the person who took the call said there's never been a toll free number for the Capitol building!

So I called the 202-224-3121 number for the Capitol and the operator was very nice. She said that there has in fact never been any toll free number for the Capitol building, but what some companies and lobbying groups do is purchase temporary toll free numbers to give out to their constituents or clients when they want people to call on a specific piece of legislation or issue.

Here's a list of all the toll-free numbers that are permanent:
