I seems that every poll they do is this way. Who is fooling who here? I believe that MOST of the country voted against shrub, they just don't realize it yet.

Of course politics is being played. Isn't that what is done in Washington? That question is ambiguous. I'd answer yes, but it doesn't address the fact that they should be "playing politics" by opposing her nomination. The fact that it's 52/48 only means the question was presented in a way that a clear opinion on her nomination hearing was not asked and the vote result is meaningless.

Are the Republicans "playing politics" on Iraq? On Social Security? On Medicare" On the Tax cuts? You betcha.

I was just at msnbc and copied the poll numbers to come over hear and start a thread like this. And here this was.

The thing that I found interesting was that one couldnt say that those numbers in the 70% range were reflective of partisanship, since the only partisan question, about Rices nomination, was spread more evenly (and probably very much like the election should have come out). Yet those numbers of 72% to 76% on the other questions attack the very heart of bush's suggested strengths, his being tough and bringing us a feeling of security.

Something is very strange. As Ive said before, many of the polls in the US and abroad are all coming out the same, 60% to 75% no confidence in bush. How can there be numbers like that a couple months after the election. I can only assume that those feelings are the real heart of the American people and bush and company must have really done a number on the votes, more than I suspected.

Not that I'm saying DU swayed all those polls, but the "freep factor" has to be recognized.

I believe Rove & Bush manipulated the numbers in both the campaign run up to the election (to make it look far closer than it really was) and that the larger majority 65%+ are not just opposed to him, but didn't vote for him....
