So--shall we hang together, or shall we hang separately?
Each time a journalist gets a story together, people are getting intimidated by local GOP officials. Witness the recent posting (I first saw it a "Citizens for Legitimate Gov't" but it's at RawStory), about the Ohio elections volunteers who've turned in the affidavits saying they saw the stickers over the Kerry/Edwards ovals on some ballots during the hand recounts, and citing possible legal violations by the Republican elections officials.
But some of the people, once cited as sources, began to back away.
This may be some kind of serious crisis for our democracy. We need to think about the long-term potential consequences of a backing-away.
The Democratic Leadership seems to be backing away. I wonder if they can really afford to do that, right now? I wonder if they can ever win another election if they do? It's really iffy that they can. This thing needs to be investigated and protested and challenged. I don't know if we even have the wherewithal to do that anymore, though, or not.
It's kind of like a guy with a gun that, he doesn't even know if it has any bullets in it or not, and there's a rhino charging him, and he tosses the gun down for fear it might backfire. It almost seems a lost cause, anyway, even if we hang together. But it definitely is, if we hang separately. And one of the parties twisting in the breeze, could be independent journalism, aka free speech

1. Prepare to be hanged.
If and when final unalterable proof of massive fraud that stole the Presidential election in 2004 is demonstrated to the public in the United States in such a way that no counter-spin or legal challenge, or un-planned war, can shake it, I say that hanging should be allowed and the perps should hang together simultaneously.

Pay per view?

2. That 'll never happen.
Final, unalterable, proof of massive fraud, in such a way that no counter-spin, legal challenge or unplanned war can shake it?

Anything can be twisted and turned to make it look good. B*sh hid from the Vietnam war and Kerry fought. Yet that was twisted and turned and somehow patriotic citizens were condemning a war hero and applauding a war dodger.

Rove has the knack for it and the American public are willing to buy it. So you got a war dodger in the White house and a Vietnam hero ridiculed. I find it disgraceful. But hey lets spin out lies to win our election, Repukes have no morals, they have no conscious. The American public will buy anything if you say it often enough.
