STOP ELECTION FRAUD IN ITS TRACKS: Citizen-Certified Exit Polls |
|
We need to stop further election fraud in its tracks by organizing, mobilizing, and executing citizen-certified election exit polls in time for the 2006 and 2008 elections.
By constructing and publicly vetting an exit polling model designed to identify winners and losers to 3 standard deviations, and by mobilizing, training, and deploying an army of poll takers to precincts around the country, we can close the door to vote manipulation and give us time for legislating solutions.
We need: Statisticians to formulate and publicly vet an open-sourced exit polling model Activist organizations and volunteers to recruit, train, organize, and deploy groups of exit polling volunteers for key 2006 Senate, Secretary of State, and gubnatorial elections. 2. How do you get me to tell you who I voted for? |
|
I don't think that I am a minority in this opinion. Many voters respect the idea of our vote being secret. How do you overcome the skew this would put on your poll?

3. Make the poll anonymous, of course. |
|
Make it so that the person taking the poll cannot see your answers.

Would you do it if the government ran the exit poll?

and in the minority. The statisticians can take care of your choice not to contribute and still have a successful count.

- my family for several generations has felt the same way. Politics is a private topic in our family. I was a voting adult before I even had a clue as to my parents political party affiliation.
We would either not respond to an exit poll - and have refused to do so in the past- OR would respond with an incorrect answer because who we truly voted for is no ones business but ours.

5. STOP ELECTION FRAUD IN ITS TRACKS - |

personal recounts. see http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x308661Way better than "exit polls" - you can hand-recount the actual ballots.

6. When will this happen? |
|
Agreed. However, what do we do until then? Let 2006 and 2008 pass by with the fraud continuing unabated?
Exit polls can be executed to verify election returns to within .5% accuracy (they are after all historical polls, not predictive polls).
In the face of a publicly developed and vetted scientific exit polling model, the RNC would find it difficult to manipulate the vote as freely as they did on 11/2/04.

7. When will this happen? |

If someone wants to do it, it can happen literally tomorrow. No one seems to want to do it, though.

10. Whatever organization is developed it should have a repetition component |
|
where it is broken up into several independent units - say three... Each collects random samples that are unknown to the other units. It would be hard to refute redundant polling that all indicated similar results and trends.

12. Certified Exit Polls. |
|
Why mess with the polls at all. If you get a fair count of the votes, the polls are a waste of time. Concentrate time, effort and resources on an accurate count, not on asking people who they voted for after the fact.

13. I agree with Kip -- the exit polling needs to be there as a safety |
|
measure. If these exit polls are off by more than X%, then an automatic hand recount kicks in.

16. having such polling systems in place forces an accurate count... |
|
by thwarting fraud efforts. I mean we're not talking about polling that has a primary goal of gathering demographical data - we're talking about a system that is specifically designed to test the integrity of the vote.

You do not have to worry about certified exit polls if you get and accurate count of the votes. If the vote count is accurate, the polls are a waste of time.

22. Exit polls are part of the evil |

I like this system and called for it on another thread. We have to take the polling away from private concerns, and have an open system.

24. Since there is no way to tell |
|
if the exit polls themselves are fraudulent, perhaps we need exit-exit polls – you know, someone takes an exit poll of the people who took the exit polls to see if the original exit polls were accurate. If they are off by .5% then the original exit polls can be discarded as fraudulent.
We might even have to take exit-exit-exit polls just to be sure.

25. Ok I will be a volunteer |

not qualified for the other jobs but maybe I can help with exit polling(depending on training time required.)We definately need our own exit polls ,since they are going to try to nip those in the but. However, since the public has ignored these exit polls descrepencies, at what point would they be useful.Even mitfotsky is will to discredit his own polls "for the greater good" why would they believe our polls? I still think we need them just to prove whether someone is legit or not(did I answer my own question?)
