State Democrats Back Dean for DNC Post
9 minutes ago Top Stories - AP

By WILL LESTER, Associated Press Writer

State party leaders gave their backing Monday to Howard Dean (news - web sites) in his bid to be chairman of the Democratic National Committee (news - web sites), putting the former presidential candidate in a strong position to win the election in about two weeks.

Rival Wellington Webb, former mayor of Denver, dropped out of the chairman's race after the endorsement and also backed Dean. Webb's aide Cindy Brovski said, "Mathematically, it looks like Dean is going to win on the first ballot."

The Association of State Democratic Chairs endorsed Dean during a national conference call. Dean got 56 votes, followed by Democratic activist Donnie Fowler with 21 votes. Other candidates had support in single digits. The state chairs ignored a recommendation made Sunday by the executive committee to back Fowler and supported Dean.

"If all of our members vote for him, that will be half of what he needs to win the chairman's job," said Mark Brewer, chairman of the Association of State Democratic Chairs, who noted the total membership of chairs and vice chairs is 112. "We're asking all of our state chairs and vice chairs to follow our endorsements. And we think they will."

5. And Dean is surging despite all the BS from the DLCer's.
Dean represents the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party.

The DLC represents the Republican wing of the Democratic Party.

10. I say (and hope): the Doctor is In ... but, WTF makes up this "executive
committee" that is represented as totaling about 100 persons who indeed recommended to go with Fowler (fowl, fowl, fowl move and a little internal pissing contest) ...

BTW, here's more WTF: what are WE DOING hanging all this in-fighting out to dry in public?? have we NO DISCIPLINE left in the house??????????
