*YOUR* Bid Please: A Bounty on Verifiable Democracy
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 11:59 AM by Land Shark
What would be the benefits of keeping secret ballots but EJECTING secret vote COUNTING from our democracy? What is verifiable democracy worth to you?

Even our opponents are forced to agree: Without proper vote COUNTING, the right to vote is nothing. These opponents just think there's a lack of sufficient evidence that black boxes are "malfunctioning". Whatever!

We want the widespread American tradition of open public counting of votes back, because it is corrupt to have a single party count the votes, whether enemy or friend. At the absolute minimum, we want several opposed parties observing at all times, and average citizens should have the right to observe the fundamental operation of power transfer in their democracy in person, and without hiring an expert to explain things to them.

SO HOW MUCH IS VERIFIABLE DEMOCRACY WORTH TO YOU?

It may depend on the state or locality, although every example of democracy restored will help all the others.

Knowing Americans, the integrity of US democracy must be worth many times the cost of democracy being set up in Iraq.

SO PLEASE POST (1) HOW MUCH VERIFIABLE DEMOCRACY IS WORTH TO YOU (2) FOR MONETARY BIDS, TO WHAT CHARITY OR ORGANIZATION will you give your bid and (3) IN WHAT STATES OR COUNTIES (or nationwide) DO YOU NEED TO SEE VERIFIABLE DEMOCRACY RESTORED before you pay your bid?

Hints: you'll have a year to pay, and the poorer one who gives her last penny, gives the most, so you can say "Every Last Penny, which is _____"

Remember, while we'd all like to see verifiable democracy worth a grand total of a lot of money, there are things besides money you can bid and sacrifice. If money is in short supply, think of something else in addition that might substitute for the expression of sincerity that can be present in a monetary sacrifice.

But in the end, shouldn't there be AT LEAST a million dollar bounty on restoring verifiable democracy in each state, along with some sacred honor in the spirt of Jefferson?

Please put your bid and the locations in the subject line if you can. The body of your message is a chance to plug your intended organization and why it means so much to you!

Pour your heart out, baby. This is for democracy and your other highest ideal. And a chance for you to speak a bit about that ideal. Now that's freedom of speech, and that's real, and you'll never see it in the mainstream media, so stop thinking the MSM is "free" and start being your own media.

Now, let's rock. To read this, is to kick this. To spread the word is patriotic. Thank you.

1. I'll open up the bidding at $100 plus time for "Green Tags"
Green tags are a slight premium on the price of electricity in order to purchase wind energy so that the wind energy producers get the payment from the utility at market rates plus the premium and therefore have money to expand production. It's a way to be able to honestly say the electricity in your house is all wind power (though the electricity all gets mixed together and can't be directly pumped to your home). Anyone interested can google green tags from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, and your local utility doesn't HAVE to participate.

To me, I have a 3 year old and a five year old and the global warming problem, whether it be moderate or severe, is something that (if my children grow up the way I'd like them to) they will ask me what I did about it during that critical time around the change of millenium. (Kind of like, "what did you do in WWII Grandpa?") I'd like to have an answer for them, and for everyone, if that question is ever asked, and I feel great about supporting wind power which in effect prevents more CO2 from entering the atmosphere, and helps clear our skies, and wean from Middle East oil and all fossil fuels.

4. Yeah, Georgia needs your bid, local Dems thought GA winnable
by Kerry. Nothing but Kerry signs all over Atlanta when I was there in September. Rural areas more conservative though. So obviously we need verifiable elections in GA, what with 132 years of Dem dominance ending so very recently.

Oh, keepthemhonest, you forgot to say where you'll donate $100 to (if you'd like to say where)

8. Yeah I thought
that georgia was going to be the big surprise where Kerry might win.

I will donate to Countpaperballots.com which is also attacking the monster from the legal aspect here in georgia.

6. count Me in for $100 , Fighting DREs in Georgia and WINNING!

I started an organization www.countpaperballots.com which will not rest till we see the end of DREs across the country... My goal, to invalidate all 36 Million + Votes that Diebold counted (miscounted) in the last election.

count me in for $100 bucks and since I've already given so much to countpaperballots.com, give my money to Georgia Equality to fight the gay ballot measure that was miserably and overwhelming passed in Georgia.

FYI, landshark, I'd like to see whatever detailed legal arguments you are making. we're about to enter some courts here in GA and I have bonafide evidence that I lovingly call my 'unintential fraud' pile. It's got lots of goodies in it but I need to get past the denied open records requests.. so any thoughts you have on how to wage that one let me know.

I've picked the right judges, have attorneys lined up, it's just a matter of timing now..... LANDSHARK, if you have legal ideas.. let em rip....

We also need donations for the very costly open records so click on donate if you go to the website and see what you like, a bonafide evidence of VOTE OUTSOURCING and privatizing where I can trace a single county back to a 26 year old IT consultant.. that's who runs our elections now.. not the county, not the SOS office, not the Diebold technicians, not their Diebold centralizing IT shop (KSU kennesaw state university), but down to a simple single consultant who has never taken a poll worker oath or even understands elections. this guy just charges an hourly wage and upgrades servers... oh, does he upgrade the servers.....

it's black and white what's happen. The secret part doesn't bother me as much as the county folks having no idea how to print a report from the server and having to pay Diebold techs $1500 a day to get the data..... it's like laziness won out over counting the paper... this is true fall of the American empire.. greed and laziness over democracy.....

But I do have a sledge hammer and wire cutters.

Pass a bill or get legislation passed to make my 'electronic vote machine demolition job' easier and LEGAL, and I will volunteer 2 or more days a week as lead demolition crew member.

(You may think this post is a joke, but I am serious.)
