Have you SEEN this Kos diary?
http://dailykos.com/story/2005/6/2/231224/1709

I thought they were finally catching onto election fraud.

2. What a bunch of elitists, not very bright ones at that..
This is at the end of the main post:

"This place works remarkably well for a site that has over 50,000 registered users, and over any given 4-5 day period probably has comments from 6,000-12,000 users. But every once in a while we need to exercise intellectual hygiene. I think this is one of those times." Diaries :: DHinMI's diary

It pointed out the similarity to this attitude and eugenics. They pulled my post. Panzies...

Then I posted a couple of TIA summaries, "To believe Bush won you have to..." very interesting stuff. They were rated down immediately.

Is that place rigged or something.

4. You might be amused by this.
This is a thread from KOS's original tantrum objecting to "fraudsters".

I think they're just jealous because DU has more users than them at this point:sarcasm:

5. What an arrogant numb-nuts...Part of the "reality-based community?"

Would that be the same reality based community-- peopled by the likes of Sean Hannity and Bill O'Really-- where:

A safety- minded BOE chairman in Warren County, Ohio declares a phony FBI "terror alert" on election night and throws out the press and Democratic observers during the vote count, or where:

Helpful computer technicians from Triad-- a GOP contributor-run vote counting firm-- visits dozens of Ohio BOEs between the election and a pending re-count, and makes illegal "repairs" to their vote tabulation computers and software, or where:

The mathematical odds of exit polls being off in Bush's favor in EVERY SWING STATE, in the amount necessary to swing the election in his favor, approaches one in one trillion?

Is it THAT reality based community?

8. Look what a poster from DU said!
"I'm glad you brought this up (4.00 / 2)

It needed to be said. My first exposure to online politics was at DU. Frankly, they go way too far overboard with conspiracy theories and voter fraud. After I found DailyKos, I never turned back. The danger with all these theories is that they lead to a defeatist attitude. If you start a thread about tactics we should take to try to win in 2006 or 2008 on DU, half the comments will be something like "There will be no point to 2006 as long as all the elections are rigged!" They want Howard Dean to confront election fraud as his number one issue. A few months ago, the public editor at the Chicago Tribune wrote about how he got his thousandth email about the "stolen election" in Ohio and he was sick of it. This all makes us look very bad.

We are all above this. We have a vision for the country, not paranoia about it. We are determined to win, and we can't let anything take our eyes off of that goal. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but its been something thats really been bothering me lately."

fucking turncoat

All those "realities" make him very uncomfortable.

12. I don't agree with everything posted here either - but I LOVE DU!!
I left kos because of the fraud. I don't feel like a nut case because I believe the election was rigged. There are some things people post here that are a little "out there" to me. Like the more elaborate 9/11 theories. But - who knows - they might be right. The reason I like DU is because it is much more civil (IMO) than kos. Just because I don't believe all the 9/11 theories, doesn't make the people who do believe them nuts. Frankly, I haven't looked into the theories that much and they just sound extreme. Maybe if I actually studied the facts, I'd believe them. I think the same is true about people who talk about "election fraudsters" as nuts. It sounds extreme - so they figure we are wrong. I'm sure most haven't really looked into it enough to actually say there was no fraud.

19. Not just a turncoat. Could be a discrediting operative also.
The internet is filled with both the innocently naive and the malicious.

Beware anyone who cites 'paranoia' or 'conspiracy theorists.'
They either don't know much OR don't want you to know.

The 'problem' of the truth coming out on the internet is being handled by discrediting both truth tellers and the websites they post at.
Especially at the most prominent like DemocraticUnderground.

20. Welcome to DU!!! Great! What major political crime is not a conspiracy!

Well, lets see:

Watergate - oh, no conspiracy there.
Iran Contra - nah, all one guy.
How about that nasty plot to overthrow Roosevelt - one guy only, fur sure.
Oh, yeah THE IRAQ WAR - again, just a lone political malcontent with infinite powers over men and materials, the political process, and the CM (corporate media).

I think that those who discredit fraud and corruption investigations with the "conspiracy theory" charge are total idiots, in addition to whatever else they are.

I'm just sayin'

13. SOME of dailykos's users aren't as nice as everyone here. Not everyone
Edited on Fri Jun-03-05 04:56 PM by Chicago1
Not everyone over there is nasty and vicious. It seems like there are alot more people who are warmer and kinder on DU. Also there seem to be more women over here. The balance between the genders is alot better here.

14. You're right KOS is a mixed bag.
They do seem to have a "group mind" approach and they are reflexively insulting of DU. Your comment about "balance between the enders is a lot better here" is probably right. It made me think that DU is more like a large public university and Daily KOS is more like a British Boys School. Hmmm...

Great BLOG btw.

16. I think there are some wonderful diaries on kos...but
the reason I ever came here in the first place was for the Election section. After being a recount witness, the level of denial on kos for that issue becomes annoying. (Although georgia10 was a 10 with her diaries)

18. Welcome to DU!!! I started at KOS too.
I'm glad they're there but if you compare the KOS commentary here with the DU commentary there, it's quite revealing.

They should just stick to their thing and concentrate on truly understanding what it means to be "partisan" -- it means kicking the oppositions ass whenever they try to mess with you, i.e., the major voting machine companies all being owned by active and extremist Republicans. Wonder why that doesn't stick in their throat.

You'll enjoy it here.

21. Kos = more Kerry than Dean
Yep, they're of the Stepford wing of the democratic party, but I consider myself a Kossack and am grateful that they let me post there. I always gets tons of support for documented information I've provided on the fraud topic. It's just a shame that the top of that group still doesn't get it, but then neither does Michael Moore or Moveon.

We're not getting our message out in words they can believe, which I agree is completely dumbfounding. At first I thought they didn't want the tin-foil hat to discredit their being taken seriously, but that hat has now long since blown off. I mean even Howard Dean and John Edwards are now speaking openly about it. I think you're going to see a huge people over there have to start eating humble pie in short order (lest they get mysterious cases of amnesia on their previous stances).

Unfortunately, more people read that blog than this one, and I think it's important to continue to support those over there that are trying to get the word out the the more mainstream democratic audience.
