The Ring Wing Gets It Right: Internet Fueled 2004 Election
The amazing right-wing media of our country, led by such authoratative figures as Jerry Falwell finally gets the truth about the 2004 election right.

"Internet Provided Victory to Bush
Michael Cornfeld, a researcher who studied the impact of weblogs on politics, believes President Bush made the best use of the Internet in the 2004 presidential campaign, MediaPost reports. The Bush campaign "used the Internet to find volunteers and then gave them information to spread -- via any medium at hand -- to friends and neighbors."

Said Cornfeld: "The Bush campaign married software to Tupperware," referring to the word-of-mouth business model made popular in the 1950s.

The one little item they left out and forgot to mention, is the fact that the "any medium at hand" was the internet connected voting machines. ;) But I don't think anyone will hold it against them.

2. Just more bullshit to cover the stolen election.
Look at the aggregate numbers....the political internet landscape is decidedly left. Hell, it's the only medium we have left.

3. Just a little idea that I had
What if the 2004 election was rigged from start to finish, this would explain Bush having so much crowd control, by having so many restrictions on the "loyal few" that were allowed in, nobody noticed that they were "the loyal few" If Bush had been campaigning openly people would have seen the small crowds and known that he did not have
broad based appeal. I remember seeing his speeches, the cameras were always way up close in the audience face so it was impossible to judge the crowd, who televised everything: (the media), who gave us the horse race numbers (the media), who gave us the exit polls (the media), today I read where the Wylie brothers only donated $200,000 to the Bush Cheney campaign while they were tax sheltering millions, what if GWB never had a strong base in '04 of people throwing millions his way, then where did the money come from, and where did the votes come from? (and remember that picture of the military that had been photo shopped to make it appear like a larger crowd). What if Bush did appeal to the wealthy 2%
but they are the nickel and dime crowd. (Remember trading spaces.)

4. "find volunteers and then gave them information to spread..."
BULLSHIT! They were paid (and, no doubt) many are still paid to spread the garbage (even clandestinely).

For example, that's how Thune beat Daschle. It was uncovered that a blogger was (secretly) paid MAJOR MONEY to shill for Thune.

I think we are still seeing the similar pattern (even here at DU), although they are probably paid a lot less.
