In the next 10 days Congressional Democrats and Howard Dean will be revealing a bombshell report documenting massive supression, fraud, and horrors of the 2004 election that stem from the very heart of Ohio.

2. Hmm... I'm reserving judgment
<From the link:>
"The most important statement I believe Dean made was to tell us to be prepared for a bombshell of a report the Democrats should be releasing in the next 10 days or so that documents the widespread voter suppression and fraud last November in Ohio particularly and the country in general. <good>

Many other very astute voter rights advocates participated on the panel pretty much echoing the complaints and remedies you'd find here at DU in the 2004 Election Results and Discussion section (sans the Exit Poll stuff) <questionable - are they syncing up with the Carter/Baker Election Reform Hearing that is coming up on June 30th? Will this mostly be about "irregularities", and NOT include evoting fraud? I think this report could be very "telling".> including castigating Kerry for not challenging the vote ('pre-emptive surrender'as Penda Hair of the Advancement Project called it)and outrage at the paperless trail and rightwing owned voting machines. Dean assured everyone that the Democrats will be ready for a serious legal tussle if necessary in 2006."

3. Dinger, do you have a scanner?
I think it would be nice to post the TOC. If you can scan it, but not OCR it, I can give you my email and you can send it to me, and I will fix it up and poste it here.

Please let me know.

5. Question (& Answer)
I plead ignorance . . . What is TOC, OCR?

No, I don't have a scanner, but I am not far from someone who does, so I can do it. Just show me a sign!

6. LOL! I shouldn't make so many assumptions ;)

TOC = Table of Contents

OCR = Optical character recognition (to turn the scanned TOC pages into text again so they can be posted in a thread here.)

If you can scan the pages as jpg files (picture files most suited for transmission over the internet), and email them to me, I will post them here.

I will PM you my email now.

Thanks.

7. Conyers report, plus brief version....
I haven't seen the book yet.

However, for those who missed the Conyers report:

1. Here's the quick version. Highly recommended:
"Executive Summary of Conyers Report,
Preserving Democracy"
http://www.truthout.org/docs_05/010605Y.shtml

2. Here's the long version:
The Conyers Report:
"Preserving Democracy:
What Went Wrong in Ohio"
Status Report of the
House Judiciary Committee Democratic Staff,
January 5, 2005
http://www.house.gov/judiciary_democrats/ohiostatusrept1505.pdf

3. And, here are the detailed questions Conyers sent to Blackwell:

Congressman John Conyers' letter to
Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell
detailing 34 questions about the Ohio election
(which Blackwell has declined to answer),
December 2, 2004

4. View and order here:
http://www.freepress.org/store.php#documents
Did George W. Bush Steal America's 2004 Election? Ohio's Essential Documents" by Bob Fitrakis, Harvey Wasserman and Steve Rosenfeld (767 pages) - Special pre-order price: $25
This collection of news analysis, legal documents and sworn statements from suppressed and disenfranchised voters may very well tilt the balance in revealing the election fraud in Ohio during the 2004 election. Forward by Rev. Jesse Jackson.

For more information about Dr. Fitrakis, view his bio in the Columns section of this website.

For more information about Mr. Wasserman, view his bio in the Columns section of this website.

9. This is a must read. It is a piece of living history. Vidal intro is hot
Conyers saw a problem, empowered a commission and went into the battle zone. He made us all proud to be Democrats and he brought integrity and knowledge to this debate at a critical time. Without Conyers, there would have been no Boxer.

Like tommcintyre, I'm waiting to see what happens in the next few days based on GettysbergII's post and the statements he reported. It could go either way.

One thing's for sure, the horse is out of the gate. General public disapproval of * as a politician and a person reflected by polls with 50%+ negatives on both, Coingate with the keys to the Ohio theft, and all the great DU work on election fraud will push this story with the public. Look, we're still alive with NO PRESS and a bevy of "skeptics" disparaging any election fraud work.

As they say, let's keep hoeing will be pray for rain!

Enjoy the report.

Buy it, it's only $10.95, What Went Wrong In Ohio, The Conyers Report, introduction by Gore Vidal
